Trixie's mother was the actual Malchi, her father was pure Chihuahua, so she's only a quarter Maltese. She has about 10 longer strands of white on her chest and adorable li'l face to prove it.

My Ryder the Malchi is the greatest dog in the world. He is so much fun and loving. He just adores everyone and so far all beings he has met.
He can do tricks and loves practicing them. Lately his favorite new place is the bathtub. He's always climbing in looking for water. One morning I found him sleeping in it.
I just love going home because he is there. This summer I plan on having him ride on the back of my Low Rider motorcycle ! Hope he likes it.

Cody the Malchi is 2 years old, and he is such a sweetheart,(and a Mommy's Boy.)
He is a funny dog, and we like to call him weirdo, because of some of the funny things he does. I find myself watching him daily and laughing at all different things, from the way he plays all alone throwing toys around to the way he stares at you the entire time we are in the car.
I love him to death, and wouldn't trade him for the world.

Little bear AKA Nugget is my beautiful little Malchi baby. He follows me all over the house and when I come home he'll just jump and bark until I pick him up.
I do believe he has Napoleon syndrome because he things he's big and bad, protecting his bone (against two 70 lb boxers), protecting me and the house. He'll continually bark when someone comes in the house. I've taught him a quiet command - sometimes it works sometimes not. When I take him to the park with our big dogs, he'll run as fast as his little legs will go to keep up.
He wrestles with our cat and is very mischievous. As soon as he knows he's in trouble he'll roll on his back and look at you with big beautiful eyes... How can you be mad at such a cutie. Never thought I'd love a little dog (always had big ones) but love my Malchi to death.

We really didn't even know there were other Malchi dogs... we thought him as a one of a kind. This web site describes him perfectly. Snuff is a 2 year old, very loyal, loving friend.
Nothing can stop him. He is the smallest but fastest dog on the block not scared of a thing chases cars cows, motorcycles goats loves anything that goes extremely fast, just like him. His nickname is rocket dog. When we take him in the car and he expects to go, he barks at every passing car, person, everything. Loves to hang his head out the window as far as he can get it.
He has a 13 year old cat Buddie Oliver who he drags around the house like a rag doll and pulls chunks of fur out of him. He also has a mortal enemy named Jack a German Shepherd that lives down the block for some reason snuff hates him and chases him right back home every time he sees him barking at his heels and hanging from his fur. We love him so much and would not trade him for the world. We are excited to know there are other Malchis out there!

Gretta is a 9 month old Malchi, she's just under 7 lbs and a real character... I love her blue eyes and silly personality.
She's extremely smart (sometimes too smart), learned "sit" and "dance" very quickly. She's loving, loyal and very cuddly, rarely barks, she's wonderful with children and other animals.
Two negatives about her:
1. House training - hopefully she'll catch on soon
2. Separation Anxiety - even when my husband is home with her she'll cry until I get home.

Sweetie is just the most wonderful and smartest dog ever. I have owned many dogs, but this one is the most intelligent and I would say almost "spiritual". I have to spell words and then I think she knows just what I am saying. She is such a "love".

Dexter is a 2 year old Malchi adopted from the Orange County Animal Shelter in Orange, CA.
Dexter did not know much about people are first but he learned quickly! He is now a very comfortable Mommy's boy and all around champion lapdog.
Dexter can sit and beg and loves to dance for his treats.
He shares his home with his big sis Lexi, and cats Gara and Kairi.

My little sweetie Malchi is about 2 1/2 pounds and almost 4 months old... we have only had her for a month but already she is a big part of our family.
She loves to play and has a lot of energy, but the kids keep her occupied. When my Malchi is tired she goes to lay in her kennel but adores to be on my lap. She also loves rides to Tim Hortons -- they give her doggie biscuits ha ha ha ... She is tan and white and I just love her. She's very happy, well adjusted and not yappie or jealous at all.
She loves to run and try to play with my 2 cats who are great to put up with my Malchis energy. I was told she wouldn't be over 3 or 4 pounds.

My Malchi is very energetic, loves to cuddle only when he's ready. Likes to amaze himself with his toys by retrieving and fetching very alert friendly but yet feisty when he's not familiar with you.
Also "shorty" likes to explore the neighborhood he finds away to get out of the backyard and into my neighbors front yard daily! If he doesn't have his daily 30min walk he's out of control, he takes off running around the house at top speed until his tongue is hanging from his mouth. He normally ends his day by 9pm. by smothering himself under the cover to block any light.
My Malchi is truly a treat to have and also a pain at times. Keep your shoes out of his sight. He likes high heels.

Introducing my 3 guys, Holly, Bonnie and Clyde. I bought Holly in March 2007. We only had her two weeks when we realized she was in fact 6 weeks pregnant!!! She had a liter of 4 beautiful pups on May 2nd 2007.
Three girls and one little boy!! We found it extremely difficult to part with them so I kept the only boy and smallest girl and my own Mom kept the other two girls!! They see each other on a regular basis and when they all see Holly they hop around on hind legs with excitement! They still haven't forgotten who the Mommy is!!!
Holly is an extremely special girl. She is the most placid and friendliest dog i know!
We have both volunteered for an Irish organization called PEATA that sends suitable dogs to visit elderly and sick people. We visit a nursery/care home every Sunday and she loves going to "do her job"!!
Bonnie and Clyde are inseparable! Bonnie is very courageous and fearless. She is very weary of strangers and takes along time to come around with new people. Clyde is not so bad with new people or new surroundings, he's taking after his Mom! He is the biggest and robust of all the pups but he is a meek lovely little guy!

When I first got my Malchi he would follow me around everywhere, now he follows my Mom around. He likes to bite and attack my brother because my brother spits spit balls at him.
Toda doesn't shed and when he is wet he looks like a cow, his hair is white with some cream spots in it, he has big ears for his face almost like dumbo. He is very smart, my brother called him dumbo and Toda started barking and chasing him around the kitchen, so don't call them names. When my Malchi half smiles he looks soooo cute, you would never want to get rid of him, but you should not get one if little children are around.

Molly is our brown Malchi and the best dog we've ever had in our lives.
She is smart, loving, attentive, giving, and hardly barks and doesn't shed. Molly is a doll. She is so ugly that she is beautiful. We love her to death and wish we would have gotten another few from her litter.
We've never had a small dog before, but wouldn't trade her for the world. If it didn't cost so much to clone, we would clone her. She gets along with our other dogs and cats and is a great guard dog.
We love her to death and wish we could find more Malchis to adopt.

I received my Malchi 3 years ago. We named him Rigley. We own one Chihuahua as well named Poncho. Rigley is actually Poncho's nephew. Rigley is black and white and has coarse hair but is the cutest dog I have ever seen. As a puppy he was sort of stand offish. He really didn't want a whole lot of attention and didn't need it. However, he was too darn cute to leave him alone. Everyone loved him. Then he started to love everyone.
He likes to play tug of war but not fetch so much. He loves his walks. He could go for hours. He is playful and very smart. I think he is very trainable. He learned how to go outside to use the bathroom in 3 days. Taught him to sit in a day. I am not much of a trainer so that is about as far as I got. But he gets along with people, all types, children too.
He does get real excited when people come over but not in an aggressive way. He like his bones and like to hide them. Poncho was a little harder to train before I got Rigley. That may have helped Rigley learn to go outside so fast because he was following Poncho. He is a real good dog. I think he would make a great family dog.

My Malchi is 3 years old and such a great dog. She is run to play with and loves to run around. She is also the most snugly dog you will ever meet. It seems no matter what we do my Malchi is always cold and trying to be warmer. In the winter she often falls asleep on the heating vents and in the summer she will lay out in the sun all day if you let her.

We got Holly two and half years ago off from the web. Her breeder claimed that she was a pure bred Maltese. She definitely is not. Holly weighs in at approximately nine pounds.
She is almost pure white, and has freckles of fawn on her skin. Her hair is fawn colored in spots. She has short hair around her face and a longer snout like a Chihuahua. She has big, beautiful black eyes, and a black nose. Holly has long hair around her ears and on her tail.
Although we didn't get the dog we ordered, we love our Holly. Her hair has never required trimming. That's a bonus. She is very lovable, a true lap dog. She follows us around the house, sits on our laps, and loves to snuggle. She likes to romp and play outside, but she is not overly energetic. Her only annoying habit is barking at visitors when they enter or leave the our home. Once people are here for a while she settles right down. We are very happy with our "mistake".

Gizmo is an almost 2 year old Malchi. He has fathered 3 puppies. He is white with tan streaks down his back and looks like a miniature Yorkie. He is very gentle and loves to be cuddled. He enjoys playing with his toys and standing in cool water. He will bark at strangers and will stand next to me as if protecting me when strangers come around.
He is the best dog and he gets along with all other animals including my cat and Beagle. Heis just a fun loving easy going male Malchi. I would recommend Malchis to anyone, especially the elderly, they are wonderful companions. Very loyal and trusting.

Lexi is 3 yrs old. She is by pride n joy. She doesn't like other dogs at all... but loves kitty cats. She is very spoiled and would let me hold her 24/7 if I could. Lexi is very hard headed. she still pees and poops on my floors even after letting her outside. If I fuss at her she pees on my bed for spite. she willll nooot stay out of the litter box... even though she does know better.
She's very smart and maybe she knows she can get away with the bad stuff she does. Lexi sleeps with me every night right under my arm. She is so loyal to me I am worried how it will effect her in June when I have my baby.
I have no idea what I'd do with out my Lexi. She makes my day every day!!

Tuffy is our one year old Malchi who is most lovable and loyal. He follows us around like our tail and always wants to be with us.
He's 6 Lbs, but thinks he's 50, and will bark and growl at ANY dog or person :(
He went through Sirius puppy training, and passed, but still needs to work on his excess barking and socializing with other dogs. His barking drives us crazy!
What makes him extra special, is how sweet he is playing with our Golden/Sheltie. He will bring his favorite stuffed animals and bones to her, plop them in front of her paws, stand back and look at her as if saying, "you can have this toy, do you like it?" It is most adorable.
He loves running on the beach, and swimming in the water, but hates taking a bath. Just mentioning the work "bath" makes him hide from us.
He is our pampered alpha pooch, but we love him!

Cloie is a female Malchi with a personality all her own. She is (1) year old and full grown. I think she believes she is human. She has a pink nose and is very small and all girl. She doesn't like to get dirty. She will only eat chicken or beef... no dog food.
She loves getting a bedtime snack. She enjoys being outside and sleeps with her mother under the blankets in my bed. She loves playing tug of war with her father. Our Malchi is just as lovable as she is cute.

Brewskie at the River!
Brewskie is a male Malchi and he's extremely smart. He's been raised around kids under 4 and he's great with them. He lets them dress him up and take him everywhere! He lives upstairs in our apartment and everytime we open the front door he'll run downstairs, go potty, and run right back up. Our Malchi knows numerous tricks, like speak, dance, roll over, and also know's that when his daddy says " WHERES MOMMY BREW? " He looks strait over at me. He's silly and fun and loves to play but knows exactly when I don't feel good and lays in bed with me all day. Brew goes to the river with us, and will actually ride by our feet on our stand up jet ski's. He's even got a matching life jacket like his dad :) Our Malchi does have little man syndrome and believes he's a 100 pound dog, but in reality he's only 5 pounds :) haha. He's a wonderful dog, and I wish I could clone him. Everyone who knows him falls in love. One of a kind, smart, child lover... he's everything you could want and more!

My Malchi is a very loving dog to the people she's around. She loves her Daddy, she sleeps on his head every night. She wants to go everywhere he goes. She does like her Mommy too.
She's very smart and they are easy to house break and listen and watch every move you make. She is protective of her house and yard around other dogs although she has three other dogs in the house, she is the queen! She's leary of going to strange places. We took her on her first beach trip and she was scared most of the time, she only watched and never barked at anyone or even another dog.
We love our Malchi. I recommend every one who likes one-on-one dogs to get one of these. They are loyal and will give you years of pleasure.

Jack will be one this month (Jan, 09). We brought him home from a breeder when he was 7 weeks old and weighed less than one pound! He was the only Malchi bred with a litter of full bred Chihuahuas. He was not properly weaned and we had to provide him with round the clock care for the first month or so. Now he is a healthy and rotten pup.
He is black and white with long scraggly hair - when we have him groomed he looks more like a full bred Chi. He is sweet and affectionate, good with kids, but gets into trouble. Loves to eat the arms and legs off of my daughter's dolls, LOVES to swipe underwear from the bathroom floor and is still not completely house trained.
He recently had an overnight stay at the Vet ER on account of the Christmas Chocolate he found in my closet. We love him dearly - good thing because he is a bit of trouble. He loves fleece blankets and laying between your legs on the recliner or in bed... wouldn't trade him for the world.

What a relief to finally have a breed name! My Malchi Skipper is a bit of a quiet achiever. He sleeps a lot, favourite place is the Boss Dog's (my husband) pillow or under the doona in the mornings. He still loves to romp with our two (now grown up) sons.
He is the warmest, cuddliest waste of time on four legs. I could easily do nothing all day just watching my Malchi play and having cuddles. Husband reminds me it's a dog, spelled D O G not D O L L!

Daisy, our 9 mth. old Malchi, is just darling. Her best friend and sister is our 80lb. white boxer named Molly. Of course Daisy is the boss and Molly does everything in the world to please her.
We've never had a small dog before, but, wanting a small sister for Molly because we live in a small house, we found this puppy at A.R.F. animal rescue. They weren't sure of her breed (they thought she might be a terrier of some kind) ...soooo...
When we got home we had a dog DNA test done (painless mouth swab) and found out she was a Malchi! Not knowing about these breeds. I went to the internet and found your site.
We were so excited to know there are more of these lil' treasures out there. We have been hooked ever since. We hope to have another some day. We just love our furry girls to pieces.

I bought Max, a Malchi, a lil over 3 years ago and it was love at first sight! Max was so sweet and could literally fit into the palm of your hand.
He was originally black and white but as he got older the black turned to gray. He was very unique and grew to be about 4 pounds. He was very playful and loved people and animals. He loved going out and was very adventurous. I never had any problems ever with him chewing on stuff, well besides his toys :) Max was a beautiful dog and very much loved by everyone who met him. I had countless people tell me that they did not like dogs but they really liked him :)
Unfortunately Max was ran over about 5 months ago. It was very devastating and I guess by posting this I'm keeping his memory intact.
I am going to get another Malchi, they are very cute, adorable, energetic, loving dogs. I recommend them to almost anyone wanting a small dog. The pic posted is him at around 3 years old with his hair long.
