I am a first time pet owner to my 13 weeks old puppy, Einstein. He is a Maltese Beagle mix. We brought him home when he was 11.5 weeks old and just 5lbs 11oz. His coat is a funky mix of med/long hair and also short causing it to sort of stand up ~ which is why we originally chose his name... but we are finding that he is also pretty smart!

Hello! My Malteagle's name is Toby. He is 4 months old and we adopted him a little over a week ago. I love him already! He was with his 3 sisters and the only boy left. He immediately caught my attention because he was so friendly and playful right away! He is the sweetest most gentle puppy ever!
My Maltese Beagle mix absolutely adores my 4 yr old son. Toby loves to chase him and be chased. He loves his little toy monkey and takes it everywhere. He already loves playing catch. He has so much energy! He definitely keeps me going! Toby has already got a schedule down and that makes it easier for the both of us. He is crate trained and still working on potty training and house training but he is doing great! Toby also recently learned to sit, lay, roll over and come on command. I am so proud of him! He doesn't seem to care for snacks yet haha, he prefers me using his dog food for treats. Haha he's so silly. He also would rather hear me praise him and love on him when he obeys and goes potty in the right spot. He already expects a praise right after he pees haha.
His bark is definitely interesting! He has different pitches and volumes. The Beagle in him comes out with a little howl and he easily gets distracted with following a scent. He recently met my parents 3 yr old Shih-tzu and immediately started playing with him. I plan on socializing him as he grows. I love this little guy! I'm excited to see him grow and I could not be more happier with our decision to adopt Toby the Malteagle. Its interesting because I cant find much info on Malteagles so that alone gets me excited to see him develop and change. I love this little guy and couldn't be more happier with the decision to adopt Toby.

Too Cute Caarrll was adopted at a too young age (not my idea, but mom dog was done with her nine puppies by the time they were 4 1/2 weeks old) and was SOOO small - we are a large dog family. Our Maltese Beagle mix is now 8 weeks old and at this point almost always pees on his pads. He will do the number two mostly on the pads but he turns around so much to find just the right spot he ends up off the pad. No, not going outside until all shots are finished. (We had a puppy die of parvo that we adopted from a rescue group three days after we brought him home so we are "protective" of Caarrll)
He sleeps on our bed and wines when he needs to be let down to go to the bathroom. He is rambunctious and full of it. He wrestles with his big sister, a chiweenie who crawled out of our shrubs on New Year's Eve and was never claimed. They get along tremendously. Caarrll tries to be tough with his brothers and his big brothers (80 pounds and 100 pounds) have been very patient with this little trouble maker. He's been running to his name by the fourth day we had him, give kisses like no one's business, and sits for a treats and meals. He was the more dominant of the three that were left and so we have been doing some corrections so he does not end up being one of those bratty, snippy, PITA, "why did you get a dog if you aren't smart enough to train one" dogs - and I'm sure we all know one of these.
He is wonderful. He does have short fur white with brown patches and tan freckles that multiply by the hour. Have not had a puppy in the house for 7 years and it is a little bit of an adjustment but worth every minute of it.

Our Malteagle Molly is almost a year old. She is sort of trained, we have spent alot of time and money getting her there but she worth it.
We rescued her last November. She is lovable, huggable, full of energy and absolutely adorable. She is definitely the family little girl!

Stella is my 4 month old little Malteagle rockstar. Everywhere we go she is the center of attention, and she loves it. Everyone wants to hold her and pet her. She is very good when we go out, but when she is at home and gets her spike of energy she can be nippy and scrappy. She's got some attitude, but then she will be so cuddly after she calms. She gets a little bit of separation anxiety when I leave but will settle fairly quickly. When I get home she jumps up on me and will kiss and hug me and love me like I was gone forever. It's so cute. She is intrigued with children and gets really excited around them. She is pretty good around other dogs but will sometimes bully them, even dogs much larger than her. I can't wait to see how she continues to grow and mature. I'm so happy with my little Malteagle.
