Our Maltese Chihuahua is definitely a character. Loves to play with you, whether it is with toys or coming around your backside playing Peek a Boo. She keeps our other 3 little dogs on their toes. She is Smart, playful and loves to cuddle.

I just said goodbye to my Maltese Chihuahua Scruffy. She was almost 9 years old and by far the best dog ever. She never snapped or so much as growled at another person!
She will be missed. And while I know that I can't replace her and I will definitely consider another of Maltese Chihuahua!

My Maltese Chihuahua is a beautiful little dog, with black spots on his white fur and tan face, who wouldn't want one?
TRAINING and OBEDIENCE - he was a breeze to train and is a very quick learner when rewarded.
TOILET - my Maltese Chihuahua mix has learned to go number ones when we tell him to, but number twos are sometimes still found around the house.
OTHER DOGS - he gets along pretty well with our other two dogs.
When he sees another dog walking down the street he used to bark, but with a stern ah-ah, he soon learned to cut it out.
Also, he does bark at anyone whom he cannot see, so if he hears someone in the middle of the night he will bark at them.
STRANGER DANGER - with strangers he is lovely, and social, so no aggression shown.
CHILDREN - he likes kids, he licks them quite a bit. Nothing to worry about so far.
Overall my Maltese Chihuahua is a great dog with a fabulous personality.

We love out little miniature Maltese Chihuahua mix Lucy. She is a fantastic family dog. She loves being both inside and outside. At the moment she is 17 weeks old and weighs 1.7kg. She was the runt of the litter.
Her mum is a miniature Maltese and her dad is Chihuahua.

My Maltese Chihuahua is very timid like the Chihuahua, but she is also very lovable to those she's closest to like the Maltese. On her good days, she tends to be very playful. When she's bored she'll sleep, and once she is asleep she likes to keep it that way. She's a very good dog, although she is very protective.
When a stranger or someone she doesn't know is near our home she'll start barking to let us know someone is there. She is a very tough little dog; she stands her ground even against bigger dogs. Her mother was full Maltese, and her Father is full Chihuahua.

Our Maltese Chihuahua Luci Lu is 10 feet tall and bulletproof. She beats up the kitten and Barni the Beagle. We go visiting (socializing) quite a bit and she beats up her cousins the Golden Retrievers. Actually they all play and socialization is very important to us.
She loves her whole family, especially her mommy. It can be a trial to keep her on task with training as she has the attention span of a gnat. She is the cutest and there isn't a mean bone in her body. Our Maltese Chihuahua mix makes me laugh every day.

Very energetic and loving Maltese Chihuahua. She is extremely personable and protective of the house. She loves attention but can be sceptical when people approach her (she was adopted from the shelter and found on the streets pregnant and lost all her puppies) Dispite her trauma, our Maltese Chihuahua is an amazing asset to our family and just a joy to be around.

My Maltese Chihuahua Lily's mom is a long haired Chihuahua and her dad is a Maltese. Lily is 15 months old and weighs about 4.5 lbs. She is the sweetest little girl, and so pretty! Just a cuddler, she is happiest on my lap, (as she is right now) but gets along great with my Aussie and the two cats. Lily has been really hard to housebreak, but lately she is doing much better! She gets along with all of my grandchildren, seems to genuinely like them, even the youngest, who is not quite two. She is also fine with my daughter's 3 Mastiffs, but if they come near while she is on my lap, she will growl and warn them away! It's pretty funny to see. I really wouldn't trade my Maltese Chihuahua's sweet little face for anything!

Dinky Daisy has the look of love in her eyes!
Dinky Daisy the Maltese Chihuahua has her own page at Facebook... "Darling Dinky Daisy The Diva Dog". She loves to pose for photos and "Makes Love To The Camera". She is gentle and intelligent and oh so loving. She loves to have her tummy rubbed, and has dainty little habits. I've never had to punish her, but when she was young, she would often try to get her own way about things. I learned to sing to her to get her to look at me for photo sessions. Her favorite song is, "I'll give you a Daisy a Day Dear... I'll give you a Daisy a Day... I'll love you until, all the rivers run still, and the mountains we know blow away!"
Daisy has a soft, thick undercoat, and a silky outer coat. She's easy to care for. I trim around her eyes for her. My Maltese Chihuahua mix does have problems with her knees going out of joint, and I sometimes have to give her pain pills. She's no longer up to rough play with larger dogs, and will hide under a bush until they go away! She's almost 4 now. This photo was taken on her second Birthday. She's friendly and affectionate with friends and family, and loves other little dogs. She hasn't seen many small childen and will avoid them when they're around. I think she's the sweetest, gentlest, prettiest little dog in the world. A perfect companion. And I'm sure if you were to bring home a Malchi you would be very glad you did. Daisy sends Tail Wags and Puppy Kisses to you all! Woof!

Angel is the sweetest little doggie. She's about 8 lbs and she was a rescue. She was abused before I got her and was very scared of people in general when I got her, but she became attached to me immediately. She is not scared of people anymore, but it takes her a little while to warm up to people. She is about 7 years old and was about 2 when I got her.
She is cream colored and has 2 types of hair--super soft Maltese type hair on her head and kind of wiry but still soft hair on her back. She sheds some--less than full blooded Chihuahuas. When her hair is long she looks almost like a full blooded Maltese. When she is shaved, you can see the prominent eyes and slightly apple shaped head like a Chihuahua.
She doesn't bark much--only when someone comes to the door or occasionally when another dog is barking at her (she usually only barks at bigger dogs if there is a fence or something between them). She likes to sleep under blankets.

Jazzmyn is a 7 month old Maltese Chihuahua. She is a happy go lucky doggie who loves to run circles in our backyard.
She is quite a chewer and loves toys. She's a cuddler, licker but not a kisser. She hates to be alone but that's not a problem since we have another doggie who is a great big sister to her.
UPDATE: Now that she is getting older I don't think she's looking like she has any Chihuahua in her. I think she looks more like a Malshi or Havamalt. What does everyone else think?

The picture is of a Maltese Chihuahua puppy I am thinking about adopting. But can't tell how her fur will be when she grows up. She looks like a fluff of fur. Her mother is a Maltese and her father a long hair Chihuahua. I don't know what her fur will be like if more Maltese or more long hair Chihuahua. If anyone can help, that would be great.

Ruffles the Maltese Chihuahua mix was born as a result of a Maltese sneaking into the yard of my cousin's Chihuahau. On Christmas day, when we were at my cousin's house, the litter was born as we watched. Weeks later, when we returned "just to look," we fell in love with a little white fluffy baby girl. We took her home at 8 weeks of age, and Ruffles was the BEST dog I've ever had. She was the smartest, learning tricks so very quickly. She knew all kinds of tricks within the first week. We also taught her to ring a bell placed at the door to let us know when she wanted to go out. She soon learned to ring it just when she wanted attention. Ruffy was extremely friendly and loved everyone. We lovingly called her the "wisest, justest, and best." Our Maltese Chihuahua is long gone now, but I still miss her desperately and have never had a better dog. The photo shows her playing chess with my brother (she won).

My Maltese Chihuahua is feisty, loyal and playful character full of fun and love, only willing to please.
Oscar is an extremely intelligent dog, learning the commands sit and 'have a rest' (ie lay!) within 10 minutes each... and he remembered them! He can eat for England, despite his size, and being hand reared, he is very used to and good with humans. He lives with my staff/border collie/whippet cross mongrel of whom we rescued from the RSPCA. They really are a team and despite the great difference in size, get on extremely well!
He has a tendency to hang off of my other dogs collar and makes a funny growly noise when playing but it is less aggression and more playfulness. Just like chihuahuas really!
My Maltese Chihuahua mix loves cuddles, is definitely a lap dog (when he has finally run out of energy and isnt wriggling about everywhere and charging from room to room!) He is extremely brave and makes the occasional bark to try and protect me from moving doors in the wind and other scary things.
Really good on a lead, and gives constant kisses like theres no tomorrow! Also greets anyone that comes into the house very excitedly and greets new people as if he has always known them! He also loves being carried and fussed and loves playing with toys much bigger than he is. He has a funny habit of hiding under things, such as rugs and pillows! So cute.
Furthermore, an important point, I took him to a school fayre where he was constantly fussed by many hands at only 4 months and was perfect, made no fuss and was very friendly!
If you have the opportunity to get a Malchi, do not hesitate. They don't malt, they are very loyal, playful and they don't take up any room (or money!) at all!

he loves kids
Well our Maltese Chihuahua Bumblebee is alive and alert at all times. He got attached to us really fast and alerts people if they get to close. He is always so happy and is like lightning when you let him out the door to play. He loves to swim and is great with kids. and i dont worry so much about the kids hurting him since he is not as fragile as a Chihuahua would be.
He loves to snuggle in bed and pretty much loves to be where ever we are. He seems to get more close to the kids. All in all our Maltese Chihuahua mix just a small bundle of joy that loves to run and play is protective over his family and when night falls, just loves to sunggle down with you.

When she was 7 weeks
My black Maltese Chihuahua mix puppy is almost 6 months. She loves to play with her teacup Chihuahua father :] I'm not entirely too sure if her mother is a Maltese, but she sure looks like one. Her owners don't know. Anyways Milkshakes loves jumping into bags when we're about to leave. She figures out which one I'm taking. Maltese Chihuahua mix is so smart! She knows sit, lay down and spin :]
