Phoebe just turned two! We love our Maltese Pekingese dearly. She is the smartest dog and very sensitive, jealous too! It would never work out if we had children because she IS the child of our house and needs all of our attention! (I suppose that's our fault!!)

Our Maltese Pekingese is the cutest dog in the world! She is pure white. She loves everyone in our family but is especially loyal to me(mom)! She has been a bit hard to potty train but she is now 8 months and has very few accidents. She isn't a lap dog. She loves to play and loves kids. She has a lot of energy. She gets sling really well with our other 2 dogs which are huge Newfies! All and all we love this dog and would recommend a Maltese Pekingese mix! Lots of fun and absolutely adorable:)

My family and I brought our Maltese mix Pekingese Hookie-Lau home about a year ago, at the time he was 5 months old. He was living in a large gated area with about 10 other small dogs. When we brought him home he was scared at first; new people and a home without any other animals. He was petrified to be alone, he would wimper and cry when no one was home, or even when we left him alone downstairs. He would not sleep unless someone was downstairs with him. In addition, we had to buy gates and block him from going upstairs, and in carpeted areas of our home. Housebreaking took a few months, and still he will not go to the bathroom outside unless we take him for a walk. We still must leave newspaper down for him if we are gone for more than 2 hours. He shredded and chewed EVERYTHING he could get in the house. I have lost count of the number of pairs of shoes he has destroyed. Once we left the closet door open and he got hold of an entire sheet of wrapping paper which was shredded into little bits.
But as time went on, my family and I learned, and so did he. Our Maltese Pekingese is comfortable in our home, doesn't mind spending time alone and can sleep alone as well. He is loving and adorable. At times, he is very jumpy and can bite when he thinks your are playing with him, but he is still young and we know he is trying to be playful. His energy level is through the roof and he loves running around outside and going for walks. He loves attention and loves when visitors come to the house. He is a little picky about his food, we had to try a few brands before we found one that he liked. Now, things are much better and everyone in my family loves our dog!!

My Maltese Pekingese mix is one yr old and absolutely one of the sweetest dogs I have ever owned. I found him while searching for a Pekingese puppy. I was unable to find a purebred like the 12yr old cherished pet I had recently lost. He was four months old and from the beginning played endlessly with all my outside cats and the old sweet dog of my husband's. He follows me around to every room... great watchdog and great with all visitors too... my Pekingese would snap at visitors and children so very glad the Maltese sweetness came through!

I have had several dogs in my life but Zoie is at the top of my list. She, is smart, loyal and a laugh a minute. She just loves everyone and everyone loves her. I would recommend this breed to anyone looking for a small companion. A Peke-A-Tese is sure to PLEASE!

I two Pekingnese Maltese dogs. Roxanne is what u call the baby of the two she loves to be held, and pampered. She tends to get jealous when you give the other dog attention, but however Roxanne must remember shes not the only dog {lol}.
Beautiful is very self center and independent, she loves to play and bark out the window. She doesn't like to be held very often but every other day she wants to be bother you.
The differences between the two is Roxanne has face and the small body of a Maltese and long hair on her ears compare to Beautiful who has the body of a Pekingese, her teeth stick out and short hair on her ears.

Her name is Scooter. My Pekingese mix with Maltese is very brave and very protective. Makes a good guard dog. She is playful with people and never bites or gets out of control. I've had her since she was a puppy, she is eleven years old in September 2012. I had her all through college and graduate school, she used to stay up with me while I studied. She is really the best dog ever.

This is so hard to write, but I want to submit an update on our sweet little Maltese Pekingese mix, Mickey. He passed away here at home Feb. 22, 2011. As I have said before, he had a heart murmur. Last Oct. the vet put him on blood pressure and diuretic pills to help his breathing. He did okay until about two weeks before he passed. He was frisky one night and the next day he started not wanting to eat as much and lost weight. He had good days and some bad days, but he always went around with us during our routine here in the house and went to potty outside.
The day he passed, I thought he was having a pretty good day and he even barked at a neighbor. But late that afternoon we were in the living room and Mickey was in his little soft bed. When he got up he collasped and had a seizure. My husband and I got down on the floor and comforted him until his last breath. He seemed to be unconscious so I hope he didn't suffer. We put him in his little bed curled up on his side and covered him with a little quilt I had made for him. We also added some of his favorite things. Our Maltese Pekingese looked like a little angel laying there. We put it in a heavy duty plastic container and sealed it. He joined our little Malti-Poo in our back yard.
Mickey was 14 years and 5 months old. We had him for almost 10 years. Needless to say we are heartbroken. He was a sweet and gentle dog and we truly loved him. His little spirit will always be with us.
Here are more pictures of Mickey when he was younger:

Kiko is 6 Years old and is quite the lap dog but he does love being outside especially if it's in Downtown or the dog park! He is quite the charmer ( I mean look at his face) but he can be quite picky with who he associates with. He lives like a prince and needs a haircut at least 4 times a year (once for every season change even if Calgary only seems to have two) He is very easy to train but gets distracted easily as well. If you want to see more of him you should follow his Instagram page @Kikossmallworld

Oscar is just over 7 years old, he is a very protective dog. He has more energy than life. We take him on hikes in all summer and nothing stops him, he's been over 12000 feet on a hike in Colorado that spanned 6 miles, and he was ready for more.

He had a life threatening surgical procedure done at 2 years old in which he almost died but thanks to God he is still with us at 4 years old. This little guy has the spirit of a rottweiller and the loyalty of an angel.

Kobe is 3 years old now and has been the most loving and caring dog. My Maltese Peke mix loves to stay outside and lounge in the sun. He also loves to play with each and everyone of his squeaky toys. Kobe has brought lots of love to us. This was my son’s dog, but unfortunately my son passed away at 24 years old unexpectedly and Kobe misses him. Everybody loves Kobe. He is a joy to have and has so much love. He is a nibbler. Whether it’s shirts, towels or my husbands work shirts. Also, nibbles on shirts and seems when your wearing them. It is the cutest. We love Kobe.

Glimmer will shake your hand when you come in and say, "Hey how's it going?" He is very protective. We say he has an "old soul" he loves to watch people. He can be very stubborn. If he doesn't want to do something he just won't do it. Our family couldn't picture life without him! We got him when he was 12 weeks old back in 2012.
