Maltese Shih Tzu Puppies - Ruby
by Gina
(Wagga NSW)
Little Ruby 10 weeks old
Ruby, my Maltese Shih Tzu puppy, is a beautiful family dog. When I've been away, she gets so excited to see me she nearly wags her little tail off and pees herself with excitement!
She very rarely barks at all, only at our poor cat Tigga. She follows me all the time, one step behind me where ever I go. Even in the shower!
Maltese Shih Tzu Puppies - Ginger
by Sally
(Huntington Beach, CA)
Ginger is now four months old. I am delighted to have her, she is one of the best Maltese Shih Tzu puppies ever. Her personality is very sweet, devoted, playful, social, desires to please, and loves to cuddle your neck.
She sleeps with me all night long, getting up with me during the night as we both use the bathroom and then go back to bed. Ginger was trained to pee and poo on the wee-wee pad within the first two days; liver treat rewards were given for reinforcement. Follows me everywhere and loves to go "out" in her purse.
I am planning to train as a therapy dog. Ginger even has made friends with my three cats! She is a wonderful addition to the family. Happiness is indeed a warm puppy!
Here is an update on my now 9 month old Maltese cross Shih Tzu.
Maltese Shih Tzu Puppies - Max
by Amber Wilber
(Michigan )
Do you think Max is a Maltese Shih Tzu Puppy?
Not that it matters too much because we love our Max regardless of what he is, but the woman we bought him from told us he was a Shih Tzu, however, I think there might be more to him than that. Can someone tell me if he is a Maltese Shih Tzu mix? I only ask because people ask me all the time what he is. So usually I just answer my third kid, but it would be nice to know. Thanks.
Maltese Shih Tzu Puppies? - Gizzy
by Leslie
(Houston, Tx)
My pup's (maybe Maltese Shih Tzu puppies) name is Gizmo but I call him Gizzy. He will be 6 months 2/8/2009. When I got him I was told that he was a Morkie. I took him to the vet when I first got him at 5 months and he weighed almost 12 pounds, and believe Morkies are a bit smaller. So I started to do some research of my own and came across this website and he has to be a Malshi! What do ya'll think?
Gizzy is full of energy, he loves his toys, and loves chasing my cat around. Loves his walks and just being outside. He follows me everywhere in the house, he'll get up out of a sound sleep to follow me to another room. Can become a bit snappy with his toys but never with me or my husband. Gizzy's is so great, and love him to pieces, no matter what kind of pup he is, he has won my heart!
Maltese Shih Tzu Puppies - Monty
by Pam
(Manchester UK)
Monty is 5 months old now and one of the best Maltese Shih Tzu puppies! I got him as a friend for my older (12years) border collie cross. He has learned so much really quickly, he's a very bright little dog. He can 'sit', 'rollover' and go 'down'.
He is really hardy and can manage to go out walking for up to 4 hours at a time, although he does need a big sleep after that.
A lot of people said 'he's a lap dog' but he's not, he doesn't really like to sit on your lap though, does enjoy a cuddle.
He loves children! He's learning not to jump up at people because even though he is small, he can seem quite big to little children. He is almost fully house trained now, although he does have the very occasional accident when he can't always make us understand he needs to wee.
We love him very much and would recommend Maltese Shih Tzu mix dogs to anyone.
Maltese Shih Tzu Puppies - Bella
by Mary
(CA )
My baby!
I have one of the best Maltese Shih Tzu puppies named Bella who is 6 month old. She's made us very happy these past two months she's been in our home. Bella can run around in circles like a crazy chicken with out a head or just lay in bed with me and watch television. She is playful and very loving.
I took her on her first road trip to Mexicali, Baja California and she adjusted very well to the new environment. I couldn't ask for a better companionship.
Maltese Shih Tzu Puppies - Madden
by Tracy
(Libertyville, IL)
My Maltese Shih Tzu baby's first bath
Madden, who is one of the cutest 4 month old Maltese Shih Tzu puppies, is my first puppy. I've had her for a month. My aunt found her for me on April 15th, 2009. She circled my feet a few times, grabbed my shoe lace, tugged on it and then sat down in front of me, looked up and her face just said, you are my mom. I looked down and said yes, I guess I am. It still makes me want to cry a little when I think about that wonderful day.
I'm a manager of Who's Your Puppy?! in Libertyville, a dog boutique. I took her shopping that night. Madden is white and brown with a little black sprinkled in. She has raincoats, sweatshirts, dresses and more toys than she needs. LOL
My boyfriend says I spoil her too much, so he has taken over potty training. She is going outside now and we haven't had any accidents in almost a week. She loves to play. When she runs, she looks like a little rabbit. So cute!
I've kept her in a puppy cut, because it is a little shorter and is easier to keep free of mats. As much as she plays, a more traditional Shih Tzu hair cut would just be too much.
I can say that teething is one of the most challenging things so far. I recommend finding a few teething rings, getting them wet and then putting them in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Then let your dog chew to its hearts' content. It really makes their little gums feel better.
Madden is playful, stubborn and a snuggler. We love Our Maltese Shih Tzu puppy and she is already an important part of our family.
Maltese Shih Tzu Puppies - Khloe
by Tyra
(St. Louis,MO)
Khloe 's First Day Home
I purchased my Maltese Shih Tzu puppy when she was 8 weeks old. Khloe was born 1/21/09 and she recently turned 3 months.
She is such a joy to be around. When I came home from a long day I see her and she brightens my day. She is very energetic and playful. My Malshi is very friendly and acts very well around other dogs and people. We are still in the house training stage but hopeful she will catch on pretty soon
She hates being in crate at night, and she whines until she falls asleep; but I'm terrified if I leave her out night she will get into things
This is my first pet and I love her death!!!

Maltese Shih Tzu Puppies - Peanut
by Tracy
(Phoenix, AZ)
Peanut is one of the best Maltese Shih Tzu puppies at 5 months old now, but she is a handful. She is very playful and intelligent. Peanut loves people and enjoys being held although she tends to be shy the first hour or so.
Our Maltese Shih Tzu puppy likes to hang out in the bed with us at night but ultimately goes back to her bed.
Anytime she quickly walks away from us indicates that she is up to her shenanigans.
Peanut has potty accidents off and on. She pees in the bedroom once in a while although we have potty pads laid out in the bathroom. I think it is not a matter of training but laziness. It was probably our fault because we might have been a little too gentle. Any suggestions?

Spring Fling with Roxy the Maltese Shih Tzu Puppy
Roxy is 9 weeks old and like most Maltese Shih Tzu puppies, she's a delight.
We've had for 8 days and she's doing amazingly well with potty training, can sit, knows her name, and will come when called. She's fun loving, affectionate and sassy.
We ADORE her and she really knows how to stop traffic. She's a true blessing and a wonderful addition to our family.

She has been so great for the both of us. We enjoy her so much. She has picked up on alot of commands.

Maltese Shih Tzu Puppies - Gabi
by Johnnie
(Spokane, WA)
Gabi's First Puppy Clip at 4 months
Gabi is almost 5 months old and weighs about 6.5 lbs. She is the love of our lives. Maltese Shih Tzu puppies are the best! We lost our cat of 21 years 1.5 years ago and needed another animal in our lives.
We are senior citizens and love to travel. Knowing another cat would probably not be good for traveling, I convinced my husband that a Shih Tzu type dog would be best, as I had one many years ago and know of their disposition. Needless to say, the little puppy we received 3/4 Shih Tzu and 1/4 Maltese has turned out to be more my husbands dog than mine, even though she was a Christmas present to me from my daughter.
We plan on taking her camping in our 5th wheel this Spring and are looking forward to her companionship for years to come. She loves to play (wrestle) with my husband. She does not bark unless she is playing, not even when she is around other dogs that are barking. She will only be about 9-10 lbs fully grown and is from a mother who is 1/2 Shih Tzu 1/2 Maltese and a father who is a small 100% Shih Tzu. I believe that she is part cat as well, she can climb better than any dog I've ever seen.
We did not want to crate train her as we were told we may need to do, since they are fairly stubborn to pad train. She has the freedom of our home and is now pad trained, but it did take patience. She loves the snow and being outside. She gets along great with my daughters two dogs (Boxer Lab mix and Chihuahua Doxie mix).
Gabi has enriched our lives so much that it's actually brought my husband and I closer together as a couple. Our lives are complete.

Maltese Shih Tzu Puppies - Isabella
by Heather
(Annapolis, MD)
Isabella showing off her new sweater
Maltese Shih Tzu puppies are such a joy! We adopted her at 3 months, she was a Christmas present. Isabella is the perfect combination between a companion lap dog and a funny playful dog.
At 4-1/2 months now she weighs 4.7 ounces, and her personality is evolving everyday. Now she enjoys challenging and stimulating toys, like puzzle dog toys.
Bella learns really quick. We were able to potty train her to use an indoor grass mat in only a couple days. And she easily learned Sit, Down, Stay, and Come. She seems to really enjoy our training sessions.
Our Maltese Shih Tzu puppy also has a mischievous side... like she loves to steal something of ours from the coffee table and will walk real proudly with it in her mouth, then take it to her bed as if to say "it's mine now". It is a bad behavior we are trying to curb, but it is so funny to watch we really don't mind it.
She likes to come with me when I run errands and everyone looks forward to seeing her at the dry cleaners. Bella is a real people lover! In fact at the dog park, I think she has more fun finding new people to pet her than she does meeting other dogs.
We are so attached to her, we just cannot imagine life without our Maltese Shih Tzu now.
Maltese Shih Tzu Puppies - TAO

Posing and profiling
Tao is one of the most extremely smart and intelligent Maltese Shih Tzu puppies! He learns quickly. TAO makes friends easily and has a fan club at our local Walgreens Drugstore and in our neighborhood. He is even tempered, quiet and very lovable. He likes to play with his toys and brings them to us to have us play too.
He looks like the dog on the "Mighty Dog" commercial when he runs.:) Our Maltese Shih Tzu puppy is now 7 months old and will be 1 years old in July. Lately he's become vocal in the morning, using his voicebox effectively!
Maltese Shih Tzu Puppies - Sassy
by Ashley B.
(Waseca, MN, USA)
Such a sweetheart!!
Sassy is an energetic little Maltese Shih Tzu puppy! She's so much fun to be around. She loves to fetch and play hide & seek. My Mal-Shi is the best lil' watchdog, too. The second someone knocks, she bolts to the door and lets me know someone's there!
She always listens to me, and does what she's told. I taught her to go potty in a dog litter box, and since then, she barely ever has an accident, unless I'm gone for a long time. She'll cuddle up with me at night, and get up with me in the morning. She likes the beach alot.
She really likes to play with the big dogs. She even likes to try playing with cats, sometimes. She's the cutest, most-kindhearted animal I've ever known! :)

Cutie pies
Our Maltese Shih Tzu puppies are 4 mos. old here and they are sisters that get along so well.
We could not ask for better temperaments. They are so obedient and just the best mix of breeds I have ever had... we love them so much. They are now 2.5 yrs old. and still the best mix ever!!
They love to play with their Kong and their small tennis balls. They come when you whistle and they never go out the door unless you go first and say it's o.k.
We really didn't do much of intentional training, They just took to everything we told them to do. They are very attentive to everything we say to them, but they are bed hogs!
Maltese Shih tzu Puppies - Tucker
by Linda
(Hershey, Pennsylvania)
Tucker
Our adorable Tucker is 8 months old and is one of the sweetest little Maltese Shih tzu puppies we've ever known. He gets along with everyone, loves to play, and gives millions of kisses. He was easy to housebreak and learns quickly. Tucker's learned many commands (sit, lie-down, roll-over, turn-around, dance, fetch etc)and he's not shy about showing off. He's curious about everything and loves to discover new games. He loves to "safari" about our fenced-in yard and is able to entertain himself with his toys.
Our Maltese Shih tzu puppy is predominately white but has caramel, grey, and black on his ears, head, and rump. Tucker is a sturdy little guy, but unbelievably soft. He weighs about 15 lbs and is the perfect armful of warm, soft, fluffiness.
We're so glad to have Tucker as part of our family. He has brought us a lot of joy. We can't imagine life without him now.
