My Maltese Shih Tzu George is awesome. He was born Feb 11 2010 and came into my life on May 9th 2010. He is the sweetest little one you could ever meet. He had pretty intense separation anxiety for the first couple of months, but has gotten better now that I have returned to work.

Rusty and Wolfie are Maltese Shih Tzu brothers (hard to believe by the photo). They were born in the same litter from the same mom and dad.
I always wanted a little dog, so when my husband and I got married in August of 04 he told me I could have one for Christmas. In October his sisters friend from work announced that his mothers Shih Tzu had puppies with the neighbors Maltese. I was over joyed that he gave us the pick of the litter.
When we got there and was walking up to the kennel Rusty's head popped up. I fell in love without looking at the others. He was cute and my husband swore he was cross-eyed. I loved him none the less. His sister picked out Wolfie, she said he looked like a wolf pup. Six months later she decided she didn't want to keep Wolfie and since he spent so much time with my Rusty my husband adopted him into our family. So we then had two Maltese Shih Tzu puppies.
Rusty's hair gets medium long and I have to keep it cut short due to the shedding (my husband hates that I give him a mowhawk) and Wolfie's hair stays the same length and isn't long but both of their tails curl over their backs. Those two are spunky and love being held. Wolfie can sit up on his hind legs and beg. Rusty is so laid back you wouldn't know he was in the house if you didn't see him sitting in front of the TV. They like to sleep in the bed with me but are big bed hogs. They know when I say "time for bed" that means to go to their bed and go to sleep.
They are cute and one of the loves in my life. I don't know for a fact if they are a Malshi but I would like to know why Wolfie looks nothing like his brother?

Mia is a 4 month old Maltese Shih Tzu or Malshi and is completely house trained. She can sit pretty, give a paw and lay down.
She is excellent with children and is a little mother hen to my 8 month old son. She loves to chase birds and her best friend is our 6 year old Yellow Lab Gunther.
The Malshi breed is truly a wonderful mix. They are loving, kind, genuine and caring. If you are looking for a small dog, they are the one to buy.

My Maltese Shih Tzu Lucky was my soul! Whenever my family and I would go outside he would run up to us and start jumping up on us like crazy! He would never give down to a game of fetch and would always jump on the swing next to you and let you pat him.
On October the 2nd his behavior started to change. My Maltese Shih Tzu wasn't eating, hardly drinking, wouldn't run and could hardly jump on the swing. I was worried and asked my parents to take him to the vet for a check up but knowing then it would be expensive. I went on all the websites trying to find out what it is and it kept coming up as something bad or fatal.
We took photos of him all day and then on the 4th of October 2010 he died. It was early in the morning and my dad took My Maltese Shih Tzu away. He wouldn't tell me where and they took his kennel etc. It was breaking my heart every minute and we still don't know what caused it. He will forever be in our hearts! My Lucky.

"She's truly one of a kind", all my friends would say about my Maltese Shih Tzu. She has a pair of alert and bright cherry eyes, which seemed to stare right into your eyes. Weighing only 2.5 kg and she's 7 years old tomorrow, but her gut is definitely Doberman size. My Maltese Shih Tzu is protective towards my two little niece and nephew when we are outside, she would bark at people getting near them. While most dogs toned down after spaying, I find her behavior goes back to puppy-hood, as feisty and curious as one. She loves running on the grass and would always run to form a number 8. Strangers would always stop to give her a pat and in her good mood, she will reply by kissing them, at other times, she would snap, too =(. She's a blessing, although she could be a package of chaos and cuteness all in one.

My Maltese Shih Tzu Bentlee isn't your average dog he thinks he's human, just like us he does not like rain, puddles getting his hair wet and dirty, and a very picky eater. Instead of him barking at me to let me know he has to use the bathroom, he sits on the floor and make this strange growling noise but it sounds like hes talking in the sense. My dog is a very loveable dog, no one can resist coming in and acknowledging the KING before they speak to his owner the QUEEN, because if they dont and he disagrees with their actions he will let them know asap. I love having a Malshi he is very easy to train and his maintenance isnt at all to much for me to handle. But what he does that annoys me a little bit is hes always in my laundry bags messing with my underwear, and inside of my new clothing shopping bags taking stuff out as if he has a real motive behind his actions. I love being the owner of my Maltese Shih Tzu Mr. Bentlee.

My Willow Grace is the smartest, sweetest, lovable Maltese Shih Tzu in the world, at least to me. She's has a great personality. She never meets a stranger. She just loves everyone she meets. She loves showing off.
She knows all the basic commands stay, sit, lay down, heel, come and fetch. She knows the names to all of her toys and she will fetch them on command. She loves dressing up, bath time and being groomed. She needs and wants alot of attention, and of course she gets it.
The Maltese Shih Tzu mix needs and takes extra care then others. Please be aware that they are very high maintenance animal. If you don't have the time to keep them groomed, or interact with them 90% of your time, please consider a different breed.
Willow does have one issue, that she as some difficulty with - potty training. Willow does great when kept on feeding and potty schedule but there have been times completely my fault there have been oops! ACCIDENTS. I just clean it up and go on.
Willow brings out the best in me. My Maltese Shih Tzu is truly a blessing a pure joy to have around She's my shine shine.

My Maltese Shih Tzu dog Lulu is a cute, but so dumb. She barks at the wind and at noises she sometimes concentrates so much she walks into walls. We think that she has our old cats soul.

My Maltese Shih Tzu Koa is now 2+ years old and 12-1/2 lbs. He's still super cute and loves his many dog and people friends. Although, he's more reserved with strangers and new dogs, once he gets to know them, he's super friendly.
He loves to play, but is a real couch potato in the hot afternoons. My Maltese Shih Tzu sleeps upside down on the sofa all the time. He's a addicted to face and feet licking, so I get a facial every day (dog tongues are great for exfoliating) ;P

Our little 4 1/2 year old Maltese Shih Tzu cross Mitzee is not so little, weighing in at 17.5 lbs. She lives with an older Pekingese brother, who is 9 1/2. Mitzee is the cutest little dog, children love her, they think she is a stuffed animal, because she just hangs there like one, when she is being held. She loves to walk on our tredmill, takes long walks with her Mommy (the Pekingese just wants to smell on wallks, so they usually go separate). She loves the Daddy of the house, and follows him around, whichever room he is in, yes even to bed :) She is a great entertainer. Say the word 'squirrel', 'cat' or 'bird' and she is right at our door, ready to protect. Our Maltese Shih Tzu cross knows many tricks, and she talks to you alot. She can say "I love you", and whenever we come home, she yells at us for about 5 minutes. She lights up the whole house, and we are blessed to have our Malshi dog!

Puppy is a Maltese Shih Tzu Angel sent from Above. I wouldn't have any other mix breed. The only other breed I would have is a Keeshond.
