Frosti is my first pet. I adopted this little Maltese Shitzu man three weeks ago. He has changed my life. He is intelligent and house broken, loving and very grateful.
I thought I rescued him but he has rescued me. I think he is a bit over weight so I'm careful to not over indulge my Shitzu Maltese. Just take a look at this beautiful dog.
His groomer thinks that Frosi is pure Maltese. I could care less. He's 100% the new love of my life!

My Maltese Shitzu is almost 6 months old and is such a good dog. He is playful, yet very lovable. He listens well and the kids love him. He loves to get in bed with us and just snuggle. He is also very smart, and is a great watch dog.

Bella is a beautiful and playful 3 year old Maltese Shitzu mix or Malshi! She loves her ball... and will chase it anywhere. She's even gotten herself stuck under the bed trying to go after it.
My Maltese Shitzu has a loving and playful personality and it a joy to have in my life. She cuddles often, but loves to be outside and the minute you mention a 'walk' she is running for the door! There were cuter pictures to post than the one I have... but this is classic Bella.

I am originally from Kansas City and moved to St. Louis for my now finance. In my loneliness of missing home my finance got me Kacey my Maltese Shitzu. When she arrived at 8 weeks she was the sweetest little bundle of 2.5 pound joy! She would cuddle and sleep throughout her next few days.
We started potty training and she was so good learning in a little under 3 weeks where to go and when to go outside. She is so smart. Now Kacey is about 10 pounds and loves to run and play with her other doggie friends, she enjoys visiting her grandma's houses, taking walks, roaming the yard looking for sticks and looks forward everyday to her mom and dad arriving home from works.
She has the sweetest personality and will play with just about anyone unless you look mean :) I have recommended our breeder to many of my friends and now throughout our town I think about 14 little Kacey dogs roam! She is a true super dog!

Samson is a 2 year old Maltese Shitzu born in Australia and living in the USA. He is soooo cute and has the cutest skip in his step and a fabulous smile. His hair is long but he really hates to be prettied up, wear clothes or bows... he is a real Bloke. He does love to be in water and to get dirty and to even eat dirt if I don't watch him. He loves rough play but not so keen on the walk on lead thing. He is getting a new hairdo tomorrow... I'm not sure but due to grass and weather I'm sure the legs at least will have to be short.
I love his long hair hence the names Samson and Fabio but he really does not. He had it all cut off once and he looked like a little lamb and he seemed so happy. He also can jump pretty high and I would guess he would be great at agility games on the times when I did not have to carry him. Samson is also a luvaboy loves to cuddle and kiss... ps he must have been a ganster in his past life because he doesn't poop in his own back yard. Samson is my very first ever dog and I really love him and he is a great companion.
He is super good looking all white with little black nose and pink tongue and clean eyes. Even his eyes are almost like a cartoon picture in that they show alot of the white around the brown like a drawing of a cartoon. Anyone considering a Maltese Shitzu mix should do so immediately.

Her nickname is "Booger", does that tell you anything about my Maltese Shitzu?? I was never a small dog fan until this one came into our lives! What a character! We have a large yellow lab (he was here first), definitely the dominant animal, but whatever Patchez wants- she gets.
Never have I met an animal that could be so completely stubborn one second and the sweetest thing on earth the next. She continually pushes around the big dog (97 lbs. to her 20) and yet he is always very gentle with her, that to me says something about the spell she casts over animal and human alike.
No one that ever meets her can resist saying, "OOOoohh, she's so cute!!" She is all heart, big dog in a little dog body -no priss here- but her favorite place in the world is.... on my husbands lap!

I got my Maltese Shitzu Buddy a week ago tomorrow (9/14/10), he is four 1/2 months old. We have two 'big dogs' and he wasn't scared of them in the least and loves to chase them. He is already almost completely potty trained and will whine, scratch or just sit by the door when he wants to go out.
He sleeps in the bed with us all night and is a total cuddle bug! He has no problem with being touched anywhere on his little body and has no food aggressions, even with little kids. I definetely found a keeper!!! I absolutely love my Maltese Shitzu to death.
Bella is SO SMART!!!!! My Maltese Shitzu is 4 months old now, but was wee wee pad trained after 2 days living with us at age 8 weeks! She also figured out how to get out of her puppy playpen (big circular vinyl playpen with mesh zip doors and a velcro attached bottom)She slips underneath in between the velcro!! And she figured out how to open her crate door... I am not joking!
She is a wonderful, lovable little Maltese Shitzu girl. I think she is absolutely gorgeous! She is very good with the kids. I initially thought she would be a little too "fifi"ish and not want to play... but boy was I wrong! She loves to play with them! (we have 6 kids) She chases them, licks them and jumps all over them... then she comes over to me and plops down for a much needed rest! ha! What a delightful little girl! I highly recommend the Maltese Shitzu mix to anyone!!!!

Such a large name for a lil' guy, but our Maltese Shitzu carries it well. Having Italian and German owners led to extended family members providing additional names that he does respond to. I suppose I should have named him Prince Peanut as there are times his attitude oozes royalty.
Peanut is half Shitzu and half Maltese making him a Shi-tese. Being strong minded and a tad stubborn he is well balanced by being completely loyal, playful and affectionate. Each evening he pounces into an overly large basket of toys and "he" decides on the toy for the evening. He picks one toy and will let you throw 30 other toys, as he waits patiently for you to throw the toy he picked. He will not participate until you play with his selection and play you shall. Peanut demands alot of attention but returns all the love and attention two-fold if not more!
Each evening he waits patiently (lol) for his snack. Usually fresh vegetables or fruit. He loves apples with a little peanut butter. Cucumbers, beets, carrots and green beans are a few of his favorite vegetables. Occasionally for special occasions purple stains are evidence of blueberry pancakes.
Peanut is mostly white with a hint of buff color on his ears and across his shoulders. Grooming is a must and he does enjoy being pampered. Struts with that chest out for days afterward. When bathed at home, there is no resistance and will run to the bathroom when told it is time for a bath.
Peanut travels wherever we go. A pillow on the backseat and he is happy. Our Maltese Shitzu does not prance around over-excitedly in the car, just lays on his pillow content to be with you. Friends and family dog-sit when needed and he has them wrapped tightly around his paw as well. Actually, friends call and ask if they can come and get him to spend a night at there home because they miss him. If I sit down he is on my lap. Of course he sleeps in bed with us but generally at the foot of the bed. If he does get cold without waking me he walks up beside me, puts his head under the sheet and under he goes...turns around, out pops his head, the body stretched out beside me as his head lays down on the pillow beside me.
Spoiled, well absolutely, lol... but why not, besides in some ways it is as if it was in his genes, as if "What other way is there"!
Kela is a whopping 22 pound (not fat) Maltese Shitzu. She is seven years old. We love her dearly.
She is very affectionate and loving. She was not difficult to potty train and is a very good natured dog.

I had a Maltese Shitzu for 15 years... we got him before his mixture was considered a "designer dog." What a cutie to the very end. He was a delightful, energetic, loving and independent family member. He loved all other people and dogs.
He never looked like an aging dog... always like a cute puppy. This is why it is so hard to believe he is now gone. I guess we always thought he'd live forever. It's been less than 2 weeks and we miss him dearly. He's a precious part of our family that will be in our hearts forever. You will not regret having a Maltese Shitzu in your family!

This is my baby puppy jack. He's a cross dog Maltese Shitzu. He's my little baby.
He loves to play, and especially chew! As you may be able to tell!
He will chew anything! From peoples hands (only if you let him, hes not rude!) to underwear! He picked up that habit from his mother!
Haha, he loves a good play, hes about 1 and a half now, but in this photo i think he was only just 1.
He was born on April 1st. April Fools Day! And let me tell you, his mum sure fooled us! He was born at about 1 am!
He wouldn't be alive today if it weren't for my dad. It may seem gross to you, but Chris (my dad) had to give Jack a few breaths of life when he came out because Blondie was in so much stress. So my dad is the reason Jack is still alive today!
I'm not joking either!
Well Jack says RUFF RUFF *lick*
Roughly translated "i love you all" haha!

Our Maltese Shitzu Lily came into our home as an addition to our Golden Retriever Maggie, our aging Sheltie Sasha and our Maine coon cat, Frodo. Sasha who mothered our golden had enough energy left to mother one more puppy. She did a fabulous job. Lily is loaded with playful energy when needed and will turn around and cuddle in when things are quiet.
She does bark but could not for the life of us get her to bark to go out side. Sasha would bark for her but once Sasha was gone it was a problem. She likes to jump so I hung bells on the door and she will jump to ring those to be let out. Very nice because I would never be able to tell between a bark to go out and the bark warning of a nazi squirrell entering the yard.
Our Lily is salt and pepper on top and white on her legs and tummy. I have only grown out her hair once and it was beautiful but more work than I want. I keep our Maltese Shitzu in a puppy cut and I find that very appealing.
Although smaller she reminds me, in looks, of the Lhasa Apso I had 35 years ago except Lily is friendly to all where as my Lhasa was on guard toward anyone who came near me.
Lily has to be in the midst of all activity. She follows me everywhere. To the kitchen, to the bathroom, to the front door, to the laundry room. She will not be left behind.
However when it comes to the great out doors she is a runner. Luckily we have a dog door into a play area for them and she's happy with that. She is smart enough to have learned commands by following the actions of the older dogs. If she can not get my attention she will put a paw on me and give me a push. It is so cute and I've never had another dog that does that. I think from watching the cat she jumps up on one of our end tables or on the back of a chair both of which are in front of windows and will watch the coming and going of the neighborhood for hours. She is not tiny but it isn't at all tiring to carry her. She is a companion and play mate. She is equally comfortable with children as well as other pets. She is affectionate and trainable. That said she does not like extreme cold or rain or thunder. If I have to be away during a thunderstorm she is kenneled. If it's raining or extremely cold I put out a puppy pad for her and that solves the issue of her finding somewhere else to go. I have litter box trained a few small dogs. I wished I had done that with lily because she does not know the difference between a scatter rug and a puppy pad. Pointing out the very few issues she has and the solutions I've used I hope may help someone. My Malshi is a wonderful addition to our home. I've had people ask to take care of her if we ever are in need. Because she's a smaller breed and the puppy cut and her playfulness, she just seems to feel like she is always a puppy. Never a thought of regret to having this mixed breed.

Our Maltese Shitzu Rosie adopted us just before midnight New Years Eve & after locating the owners they have given her to us. She is absolutely adorable & taken over the house. As much as I say she's not to go past a certain point she wins us over with her adorable face & rolling on her back for a tummy rub. She's very affectionate & wants to know that there's one of us around. Very friendly but lets us know if there's someone coming. Our Maltese Shitzu is very gentle with children but will do as told. Quite clever. We don't have a photo as yet.

My Silly Malshi - Gunner
Gunner is my special Maltese Shitzu dog! He's so cute and sweet and a huge goofball. He's a great companion and is always so happy. He can’t seem to learn potty training so patience is a must with this little fella’. He loves to play outside and run around our front yard with our Maltipoo. He loves to play chase with me and prefers to hop like a bunny versus running like a puppy! He has a big head and when he jumps down from things, even just one inch down, he lands on his two front paws and immediately looses his balance and basically does a walking front hand stand until his feet finally fall to the ground. It only lasts about 2 seconds but it’s the funniest two seconds for a great laugh. He doesn’t mind all the clothes and scarfs I throw on him and does very well on the leash. He actually loves it and would prefer walking vs. me carrying him.
Gunner always has this lost and “huh” look on his face (as you can see from his picture.) My Maltese Shitzu gets very jealous if I play with my Malti-poo and runs up and climbs on top of her till he’s the one on my lap. He’s great with kids, other dogs and loves attention from every one! But he’s mine and I love him!

My Maltese Shitzu is 8 months old, and has been such a joy, I adopted him when he was 4 months old, and he is all about his "mama" (ME !) he is so out going and so sweet, he came right to me from day one, so I guess he picked me instead of the other way around. My partner is always making fun of how spoiled my Maltese Shitzu is and the "closet" of clothes I have for him.

My Maltese Shitzu named Alvin Skipper Teich is wonderful. Perfect funny face. Does not shed, his hair does not grow to the floor, rather becomes fluffy. Regular brushing keeps it soft and pretty. Has haircuts every 3-4 months. Potty trained quickly. Loves to go with us in the car. Excellent travel companion. Enjoys long walks on a leash.
Sensitive and very playful. Likes to race around the house & yard with you. My Shitzu Maltese plays with his toys and will fetch a ball. Learns commands and tricks quickly.
Barks when someone comes to the door. He can be shy and hangs close to us. He does not bite and is very considerate. He turns 3 in one month!
A loving companion who wants to be with you all the time.
My Maltese Shitzu mix is such a joy.

Heidi is my 5 year or so old Maltese Shitzu and was said to be a SHELTIE... lol. We went to get her from a lady that was moving and could no longer keep her, when we got there poor Heidi was named CoCoa and had a home made hair cut, boy was she sad looking her hair was literally layered. In some places she was shaved to the skin, however I saw her and saw past the flaws.
We have had her for a little over a year and she has literally taken over our home. She gets up on her hind legs and begs with her little hands 90 to nothing. She gets an attitude when she is out of food and water and boy does she let us know she smacks the bowl all over the dining area... literally. My Maltese Shitzu has also gotten to where she tells us when it is her bathtime, she will go and sit by the tub. With an attitude like that who needs kids:).
She is now pregnant UNFORTUNATELY by a Mini Dachshund so I am scared to see the pups, she is due july 4, and is milking the idea of being pregnant she will get up in the bed and FORCE us to rub her belly and love on her and.... I LOVE my MALSHI to death but boy is she a brat....

I got my Maltese Shitzu mix Logan when he was nine months old. He was offered on a free website by someone who couldn't keep him because they were moving into an apartment. She didn't answer me but about three days later, there was another posting on the website about him.
I contacted that woman and she dropped him off at my house. I didn't get a chance to say whether or not I would take him... she just brought him and his things and said "here". She stated her son and husband were both allergic to him.
The first night he was in my home, my fiance was upset because he didn't want another dog (we had a German Shepherd) and especially a little one. When it was time to go to bed, I made Logan a little bed next to my side of the bed but he had none of that; he jumped up on my bed to sleep. Well I thought I'd never and certainly my fiance would never let a dog sleep in our bed but there Logan was... curled up at the bottom of my bed next to my feet.
Since I went to bed before my fiance, Logan and I were fast asleep by the time he came to bed. When he entered the room, Logan, true to his breeds, started to growl and bark at him. I calmed Logan down but from that day forward, my fiance was enamored with him. He liked his spunk and protectiveness. And Logan continues to sleep in our bed.
I am a therapist and have used Logan as a therapy dog with children. He's fantastic and intuitively seems to know what each child needs... whether he needs to play with them or just if he needs to sit quietly next to them while they pet him. He has been instrumental in helping some of the children who have come from abusive homes, to relax and and open up. He gets them to laugh which is not always an easy chore to do with children who've been hurt and abused. He is truly a sweet and loving dog.
My Maltese Shih tzu mix goes almost everywhere with me and is so well trained, that most people don't even know he's there. He's not a barker, whiner, or yelper. He gets along well with other dogs especially big dogs since he was raised with a German Shepherd and is a hit at the local dog park. In fact, one friend wondered if he was a real dog because he was so well behaved then she saw him playing with his squeaker toy!
Oh, and the 'allergies' that woman's kid and husband had, it was because he was so matted and was an outside dog, that he carried whatever pollen from his yard onto him. Once he was professional groomed, he was just fine.
I've never loved a dog quite the way I love this little guy... he's enchanted everyone he's ever come in contact with even men who don't like small dogs.

We have a two year old Maltese Shitzu named Louie. It is our first dog as a family. Our youngest daughter has asthma which was very bad when she was younger so when we were researching, we needed a non shedding hypo allergenic dog. This breed was the perfect fit for our family.
Louie is very playful, friendly, happy and is the best decision we mDe. He is larger than we expected but is okay with us. He is 17 pounds, is white with Carmel ears. I take our Maltese Shitzu mix to the dog park five days a week and start our day with a mile to mile and a half and then play time with the other dogs. When Louie is in the house, he will bark at other dogs, cats or the UPS man - not the mail man, or Fed Ex, just UPS! He has such a sunny disposition and is my best buddy. A Malshi is a great mixed breed and we adore our Louie!

Molly is a very friendly Maltese Shitzu mix dog she loves children and is very alert and enjoys being walked and playing. She's a great jumper and excellent listener. She was really good when I was training her outside for potty and has it mastered now. She enjoys her treats and loves to chew on anything. Our Malshi is still only and puppy and is reddish and white in color. We love her so much.

My Maltese Shitzu is two years old and hands down the best dog I have ever owned. She is loyal to everyone in the family, was easy to housebreak, and loves to play. She prefers to be outdoors all the time but we only let her out if we can be with her. She is all white with just a spot of light brown on the tip of both ears.
The only thing my Maltese Shitzu mix is not crazy about is getting a bath. We had another dog in the house prior to bringing her home and they have done great together. The other dog is a Shitzu and was 5 when we brought LouLou home. The Shitzu took on the mother role and they bonded very well.
The only negative thing I have found is that if company brings a dog, my Malshi is very jealous and does not want them in her territory.
