Penny is such a lovely little Maltese Westie mix girl. My Husband and I adopted her from the Animal Aide Pound. She was handed in as a stray and came from a Puppy Mill. She was badly undernourished, had two loose top teeth, which the vets had to remove, skin so black and fur that was a mess. She also had a broken rib that heeled itself but crookedly.

Scruffy, my Maltese Westie mix, is very loyal and loves to hang out with his family and friends. He is playful and energetic and loves going for walks, especially on the beach. He likes to go out and about and to meet other dogs, but is also happy to lie around all day. My Maltese Westie is highly intelligent, obedient and confident, but he is scared of thunderstorms.
Teddy is a Maltese Westie mix and he is deaf. He is a rescue dog that we got from a vet a couple of states away. His owners had him for a year and realized that he couldn't her so they dropped him off at the vet and left. We later got Teddy, and he was shaggy with fleas all over him and was just a mess.
Now he is very happy. He walks really funny with his front paws dragging (which is really weird) ahead of him and kind of jumps. He loves to play with our dog but when we take him to the park he won't play with any of the dogs there. He always wants to play with our other dog and us. If you put a blanket over him then he will bite the blanket, move around, and kind of play with it. Sometimes he rolls in it. When he finds his way out he REALLY wants to play and he will pester our other dog. She gets really tired of him. After a bath, Teddy rolls ALL over the floor trying to dry off and then runs all over our house. When he goes down the stairs he jumps over like the last three steps and falls down on his stomach usually-but sometimes he lands on his paws.
He doesn't like very many dogs but LOVES people. Sometimes when he sleeps he will go in his cage and go to sleep. When we find him he will sometimes be on his back with his paws up and looks like he is dead. We have trained him and he knows many hand signals including sit, down, shake, outside, walk, ride, stay, and much more. Teddy doesn't sit like normal dogs. He will sit down in our kitchen and his legs gradually slide out until finally they are sideways and his legs can't do any farther.
When he goes outside in our backyard, he loves to bark at the dogs behind us. He loves to chase birds and squirrels and has almost caught a couple of squirrels. Teddy loves to chew on every thing! He has chewed on the side on our hutch in the kitchen, shoelaces, trash bags, shoes, squeaky toys, tennis balls, etc. Like my mom says, he has a great character.

Molly is full of spunk! She is our 4 year old Maltese Westie mix. Molly loves to chase squirrels and rabbits.
Oh, I forgot bugs are her favorite thing to chase.... Molly thinks she's pretty tough, but really she's a lovable lap dog. She is the best dog we could ever have!

Viva is the best dog in the world! She thrives on socks, ties, and chasing the cat. She is extremely intelligent, loves other animals, but is weary of strangers. She is independent, yet likes to be involved in ALL family activities. She has a very calming, yet cheerful aura around her...bring joy to everyone. She is a happy little dog who enjoys going through drive throughs, going to the local events at the dog park and Petsmart, barking at strangers, going for rides in the car, sleeping/cuddling, walking the track, and playing fetch. Viva is a delightful companion who takes more after the Maltese side. She weighs only 5.5 pounds and her coat is semi-soft and her snout is short like a Maltese. Her father was the Maltese and her mother a Westie! She likes to show off her latest fashion statements with her bright pink fur, designer shirts and coats, and flashy collars.

We decided to buy a Bijon Frise but realize that's not what we got!! We're sure Jack's a Maltese Westie mix as he has a Westie face & Maltese coat & texture of hair!
He's the funniest pup, he loves his teddy dog, Clifford, pinches shoes & runs off with them to chew (but not for long!) pulls on the lead, super-friendly with other people & dogs but likes to yap when he hears the door-knocker go or another neighbours dog bark.
He's very stubborn & if he sneaks out of the front door, just runs & runs like Forrest Gump!! He also loves to sit on your lap for hours in the evening & sleeps on his back with his paws in mid-air! We all love our Maltese Westie to bits, especially my youngest son, Joey!

We received our possible Maltese Westie mix dog Charlotte from a friend, she was being neglected and we took her in. We have had her for about 3 years now. We still do not know what breed she is but she looks like a Westie and possibly a Maltese. I wanted to send a picture and see if anyone knows what she may be.
The only thing is that she is not friendly to strangers, she barks and will run after people, she doesn't bite but she has bit a friend on the butt. She is a herder as well. She freaks out when you go into the water but we recently got her to like the water and now she's a water dog. She's very protective of me, the owner, and very affectionate to me and people she loves!!!
In addition, we've groomed her, she usually has long hair but I get it cut short for the Summer.
Can anyone help and tell us if she really is a Maltese Westie mix (Highland Maltie)????
Thanks
Melissa B

I don't know for sure that is what she is, but I think she might be a Maltese Westie mix. I got her form the pound when she was 3 months old. She is very loving, but has a mind of her own. She learns fast but only does what she wants. She is a barker, every little nosie. But she is so cute and loving that you can't get mad at her. She is about 14 lbs, has long hair mostly off white, everybody says she has Maltese in her but then its mixed on Yorkie or Westie. She is short and stout. I have a rat terrier and she loves him dearly. I also have 2 cats that she like to tease.

My male Maltese Westie mix Wallie has lots of energy and loves to play. He is very loyal and is fiercley protective of his territory and his family/pack. I don't think he realizes he is a dog, but thinks he is a short human. He is fussy when it comes to food. He is not a dog that will sit on someones lap, but prefers to snuggle up next to them on a chair. He loves to sleep on our bed with us, and insists on putting his head on a pillow and taking up the whole bed. How he does this for a little dog on a queen size bed is quite amazing, and leaves me clutching the edge of the bed so I don't fall out. He likes to go for a joy ride in the car and is very inquisitive. He likes to chase birds, and often he will sneak up on them and catch them. My Westie Maltese mix likes the beach but only tolerates a bath. Being groomed is the one thing he hates, trimming his fur and nails is usually a 2 day experience.

Kirby was turned in to a kill shelter. Luckily, someone who places dogs in foster homes saw him and took our Maltese West Highland Terrier mix. One week later and two days before Hurricane Isaac hit our state, we adopted Kirby. He is amazing. He is smart, loving, house-trained, and gets along with our 12 year old female Maltese. He is 8.5 pounds of pure joy. He has gained self-confidence over the last 4 months and prances around our home. I highly recommend this mixed breed and taking a chance on a rescue - they truly seem to know you saved them.

Madison is now seven years old. My Maltese Westie mix is my baby girl and my best buddy. She has been with me through buying a house, marriage and having three little (human) brothers (who she LOVES). She never leaves my side.
She is all white. Her hair is super soft and easily manageable. She doesn't shed. She has big pointy ears that flop back when she sleeps or is scared and stick straight up in the air when she's happy or excited. We have always called her wolf-bunny. She howls and hops around!
When she wants something and gets excited, she tap dances on our hardwood floors and wags her little tail. She will also lay her front legs on the ground and howl up at me. If I tell her to "sing me a song", she will do it. One of my favorite sounds! She's so funny.
When she was a puppy, she was incredibly bubbly and always happy no matter what. Not one bit of mischief. She listens so well, very obedient. My Maltese Westie will follow me wherever I go. No matter what time of day it is or what I'm doing, she is always aware and is always beside me. Madison has always loved to snuggle. She loves giving hugs (she truly hugs!), kisses and will sit on my lap or lay with me and let me hug her for hours (I have never known any other dog who would do that). She loves her back, belly and ears scratched.
She loves all people. She is very energetic when meeting someone new but quickly calms down once you give her a pet. She barks at leafs and squirrels and will chase them. She enjoys running around and playing with other dogs. She loves to play chase and fetch and tug. She loves to take long naps even more! (In the picture, she had just been getting a ball from underneath a car at our cabin. She loves to go on little adventures outside.)
My Maltese Westie mix is the absolute perfect dog and is such a special part of our little family.
