waiting for me to fix dinner......
This is how I got my Maltese Yorkie: I received a call from a friend to help an elderly lady move into a nursing home, so we helped her move stuff. I noticed a little 4 pound dirty matted fur silver dog. I wasn't sure what kind he was, but I did notice he had the cutest little face big brown eyes. As we continued the move a few days, on the last day I noticed the little dog was gone. I thought she had given him away. My friend and I went back the next day to finish cleaning up, I went around the back of the house to get the garbage can. I heard a lot of crying coming from the can. I flipped the lid open- to my shock I found the little dog in the garbage. I went to the lady to ask her why she did such a thing, her replay I cant take him so the garbage company will get rid of him. In my OUTRAGE i cussed the lady. I took the little dog home, clipped him, bathed him took him to the vet and had him tested... come to find out he is a full blooded Maltese Yorkie. He has never left my side and that was 2 years ago. He is my best friend, I love him so much.
Bailey is such an amazing little dog now weighting 6 pounds. Well behaved, great with everyone. I can't imagine my life with out him..

Our Maltese Yorkie Gigi, is the sweetest little girl! I seriously think that she thinks she's human she's certainly treated as one of us that's for sure.
We just couldn't imagine our home without her! Almost hard to tell which one is the stuffed animal, our Maltese Yorkie mix is so cute of course I'm biased!

Pepper is my first dog, I got her for my birthday. She is so smart and loving and she's my best friend.
Her father was a teacup Maltese so she is only 3 pounds. Even smaller than we expected. But what she lacks in size she makes up for in her personality.
She loves going for walks, running around the backyard and hopping like a bunny through the grass. She also loves playing fetch and doing her little tricks. Like 'dance' and 'sing'... which she does very well.

My Maltese Yorkie is a sweet little guy. With a bold personality and has moments where he just wants his Mom. His birthday is Sept. 21. He likes to chew on everything. His fav. toy is his rope bone, and a stick that I put treats in. My Maltese Yorkie is very, very stubborn. He also loves to play out side.

Just got the Maltese Yorkie dog from a shelter and her appearence was an eye cathcer. Looks very much like Yorkie in color and Maltese in body length. First day for this 1 1/2 year old was the adjustment day. no other dogs to share food with or toys. Took her out numerous times for that first potty duty only to see her come into the house and whizz. Back to the old fashion of cage training to get this part of the routine right. My Maltese Yorkie yet to bark and likes to sleep on your lap. Has an ear infection but with meds given I think this to be very temporary.

She is 1 year old in April and is so sweet. Mia loves to sleep with others and sometimes looks like road kill because she sleeps on her back and her hair goes every where. She play attacks the boys and skids across the wood floor jumping from couch to couch. At the back door she scratches the glass to be let in.
Mia gets along with our other dog very well, but our cat is still getting comfortable with her . Mia sometimes barks at him for food and he totally ignores her. With her dark hair she looks like the one of the boys missing hair.

My Maltese Yorkie Peanut is the sweetest little dog! He loves to make new friends, but is protective of his home turf, and when someone comes near the house, especially after dark, he does bark. My Maltese Yorkie is a good watchdog! He loves to cuddle, has been great with going on his mat and sleeping through the night since the day I brought him home. He has fur like a Maltese (all white) but the facial structure etc. of a Yorkie I think. His name is Peanut but we all call him the Little Buddy, because he is the best pal anyone could have! Best Dog!

Charlie is one of the best 3 years old Maltese Yorkies. He has a wonderful personality. He is very calm when inside and very energetic and playful outside or when we play and very very loyal. He looks like a big Yorkie. His back and tail are black while his head, paws and belly are a rich caremel color, but he will never have the silver blue color of Yorkies. He can last about 2 months on a single haircut, although sometimes longer. He is very sturdy and quite a bit larger than purebread Yorkies. He has never bitten anyone and hardly growls. However there are a few times when he felt threatened and did growl and bark. He does not bark or whine unless left alone while knowing you are still there. He is very good with other dogs and cats, but he does want to play chase sometimes but as soon as the cat hisses he backs off. Charlie will eat almost anything. He learns quickly and is eager to please. And being a mutt he is less likely to have health problems. I did not get this amazing dog from a breeder, but from a local pet shop (none of the puppies are from puppy miles, I did a lot of research on the place) mixed in with many other species of dogs. I love my Maltese Yorkie dearly and would not trade him for anything.

Molly will be one year old on the 11th. Our Maltese Yorkie is 2-1/2 lbs. Smart, cute, and very fast. Of course she sleeps with us and brings a lot of joy. Everyone loves her and she never meets a stranger. That's the problem she would go with anyone. She wants your love and attention. I only let the groomer clip her feet, fanny, and face. We keep her well brushed. We have noticed that when we put a harness or collar on her she tangles. Also she is hard to train to go on a pad in the house. I have a fenced back yard and we let her out several times a day. I have never seen a dog that can run as fast as she can. The problem we have is that everything is a game to her and she runs from you. Her hair is very thick and the color changes. Our Maltese Yorkie mix is white, champaign, a little red and a little black. I think from the pictures I have seen online she is beautiful! I wish everyone could see her and you could judge for yourself. I disagree with the people who don't like the idea of mixing a breed but I can understand. I have the best of two breeds. Her coat is thick, she has a wonderful temperament, and she is small. She is not a nippy dog and has such a cute face and body. She is petite and low to the ground. I could go on and on as you can tell.

Getting my Maltese Yorkie was a love story in the making. When I arrived home one warm Sunday, this like ball of fur ran up to me from the neighbors yard, rolled over and let me scratch her belly. With the looks of a full bred Yorkie, I knew her family had to be looking for her. I went all around my neighborhood asking each neighbor if they had lost this precious girl. No one claimed her! I took her home, bathed her, gave her water, let her go potty in the backyard while I went to the store to buy her some food. When I came home she was gone.
Exactly, one week later, I was leaving to visit my father when I see this precious little girl running up to me again. This time she smelled horrible and her coat was matted with more than just grass. I took her another bath, gave her water and put a collar on her so she knew she belonged somewhere. I had given her the name Riesling that day.
I kept a close lookout in my neighborhood looking for posters about the missing dog and found none. Not knowing her history, I took her to a local vet, where she received superior care getting all her vaccinations and a microchip. She was officially mine at that time.
Riesling loved being outside so I would leave the door open, while I was home, so she could play outside while I worked on homework. A week after I had my Maltese Yorkie dog microchipped, she was outside for a while but I didn't hear her. I tried calling her in, went looking for her outside, looked for her inside, she was no where to be found. I took her toy out in the neighborhood calling her and asking neighbors if they had seen her but no one had. When I came back home, I went out to the easement and saw some men working on their fence. I asked them about my dog and they said they heard her barking called her original name and she escaped through a small opening in my fence. The family provided her original papers, said she was a mix of Yorkie and Maltese and she kept escaping through their old fence. I couldn't take Riesling away from her family knowing the little boys had missed their friend. The parents told me they would get in touch with me to work out the expenses I had paid for Riesling's care.
After two weeks, I had not heard back from the family. When I gave them a call they told me they would be able to give the dog back. Their daughter, who the dog belonged to, had just received an acceptance letter to an out of town university and the family would not have been able to take care of the energetic dog. All they asked was to be able to visit with Riesling about once a month. Of course I agreed to the simple request.
They gave her back to me! The precious little girl has created so many smiles for me. She loves all her toys squeaking them at all hours of the day.
I was so sad when I lost her but now I know my kindness will always pay off. I love my sweet Riesling.

Ceili is Gaelic for party and is pronounces Kaylee.
My Maltese Yorkie mix dog has been a gift from God. She is lovable and very affectionate.
She came to me at 6 years old and did not have a very good life as she lived in a garage. What makes my Maltese Yorkie special is that she is so well behaved and I love her!

Princess Sophia is a Maltese mix Yorkie: part Maltese, part Yorkshire Terrier. She has the most adorable personality. She is both bold and shy. When in the house she feels as if she is in charge of our other dog that is younger than her. She knows when anyone in the house is about to take a bite of food and is becomes their best friend while they enjoy their snack or meal.
We have two cats and with one Princess Sophia is mortified and the other she is madly in love with. When she gets excited there is no slowing this one down, but when she tires out shes like a little hermit crab. She goes in her little cage and continuously pops her head in and out of the door whenever she hears any alarming noise, as if it is interrupting her beauty rest...
She enjoys chasing leaves and barking at strangers... however is the biggest scaredy cat when it comes to kids, cars, and other dogs. When it comes to Princess Sophia she has multiple personalities but that's what makes her so special :)

Chewy is the first small dog I have ever had, and there is a big difference in training methods! My Maltese Yorkie is 4 months old and about 3lbs and absolutely adorable.
She is VERY smart, learning sit, paw, down, wait and roll over all within a month. Also it only took about fifteen minuets to teach each command. The only area I am having difficulty in is walking her, she does ok mostly but sometimes just goes silly and pulls very hard.
I don't know the correct method of training when dealing with Maltese Yorkies or other small dogs. If anyone has any advice I would love to hear it!
Also do they all have dew claws on their hind legs? I found an extra toe on each foot that seems "dead" there just limp, but don't seem to bother her. Thanks for any info.

I've had my Maltese Yorkie mix Fudge for 11 days now and she is amazing. She is definitely energetic and loves affection. She's about 12wks and is picking up potty training very quickly as the owner you have to be very consistent. My Maltese Yorkie stays in her cage at night and sleeps like a rock, until my kids gets up for school in the mornings then she's wide awake.

I have two Maltese Yorkies. Pez is 6. His real name is Pezzettino which means little piece in Italian. Frankki is 4 years old. She is named after my brother Frank and his life partner Frank. They are so cute. They have a great personality. They also have the Napolean complex. My Morkies love going after dogs that are 10x bigger than them.

Mr. Peanut the Maltese Yorkie is four years old. He's rambunctious, playful, and full of energy. He can have quite a loud bark because he hears and sees everything! He's our little watch dog who makes sure to let us know when we have company. Peanut loves to keep us up at night and sleep in during the day. Our Maltese Yorkie mix certainly is a handful but his personality is very unique and special.
