Morkie Dog - Max
by Gina Iriwn
(Islip, NY, United States)
Max is a 1 1/2 year old Morkie dog. He is the love of our life.
He is weary of strangers and little children. My kids are grown so he barks at little kids when they want to pet him.
Housebreaking is not the best... he does have accidents. But he is adorable and lovable as can be.
Morkie Dog - Wilson
by Kristie
(Mount Vernon, WA)
Wilson goes rafting Summer 2009
I searched for months, high and low for a Morkie dog that would be perfect for us. I finally found him... living in a different state. I drove 12 hours that day to pick him up. I drove thru rain, snow, hail and sleet in my little convertible and I wasn't sure why I needed him so badly that I was willing to drive by myself that far in one day thru such foul weather. After all... he looked a little rough in his pics... all that wild hair.. and how will I love him the way I loved my 16 year old Beagle that I had recently lost.
Wilson stole my heart in an instant. The minute I picked him up... the way he curled up around my neck... he needed me... and I him! Our Morkie is so smart. He wants to learn more than my own training abilities allow. He knows so many tricks and I can't teach him fast enough. He loves the outdoors. He loves to show off when we hike. He will exhibit extreme maneuvers to make us proud that he knows what he's doing!
He likes to swim a little, loves the sand and the ocean... he runs with every ounce of happiness he can muster and loves trying to beat the waves at the beaches edge. He really gets into digging holes at the river's edge and trying to keep up with the water pouring in. If anyone approaches me with extreme aggression... Wilson throws his whole body in front of me to protect me.
He admires his Dad and is very proud when he gets his attention..and he is ALWAYS eager to please. He is this mommy's boy though... and my husband calls him a flea...because he is always by my side. Very loyal, very loving, very brave. Extremely social. Very passive but somehow always holds his own with any dog big or small. Any person or animal that meets him loves him.
He falls asleep with me at night and after I fall asleep he sneaks out of bed and goes to his own, but in the morning before I wake he comes back up to make sure we wake up together. His hair is wild and he loves to be brushed. He depends on his walks, but if ever I can't go for a walk he is very sweet and understanding.
He offers comfort at all the right times and also expects to be comforted back. He is a lapdog but also needs his space. But he never wants to be too far away for too long and is always aware of what's going on. He only barks on occasion if something is wrong like another dog trying to get into the garbage outside. He has a very keen sense of smell and a memory that is impressive.
Wilson has become such an important part of the family and he is only 11 months old. He is 9 lbs of pure love. How else could I put into words what a gift our Morkie dog has been?
Amazing Morkie Dog - Foxy
Foxy at 6 months, around 4.8 pounds
Foxy is the most amazing Morkie dog! She is super high energy and LOVES to give kisses. She loves everyone, but is very protective over her home.
She is very intelligent and looks after her Yorkie baby brother Tank! She likes to go everywhere with mommy in "her" coach bag, and is always very quiet while out in public.
Foxy is full grown at 6 pounds and is mostly black with tan on her muzzle, feet and eyebrows. We could not have asked for a better, cuter dog!

Morkie Dog - Ziggy
by Libi Hake
(Chicago)
the bone is bigger than he is.
At one year old, my Morkie dog Ziggy is my delight. He's ten pounds, very fun and bouncy. Makes me laugh all the time. So smart and affectionate. Loves other dogs and people. I love his scruffy appearance. Sure, he's small, but he's a rough and tumble boy! He's crate trained so he can go to the office with me. And he goes to stores and restaurants with me in a shoulder bag. Secret agent dog.
He does like to chew on things, which is bothersome. And he's been slow on the whole house training issue. But he's worth the trouble.
Spoiled Morkie Dog - Cooper
by Trish
(Romney, IN)
I was immediately drawn to my Morkie dog Cooper when I went to go see a little girl puppy in the litter. He is the light of my life. He is very playful and loves to tease his big brother Bodi, a one hundred pound Doberman.
Cooper weighed only 1#8oz when I brought him home at 8 weeks old and now weighs 4 pounds at nine months old. He loves to give me kisses and nibble on the end of my nose when I get home. He is so spoiled that he sleeps between me and my husband. We could not imagine life without him.
Loving Morkie Dog - Romeo
by McKenna
Romeo :)
What can I say about my little Morkie dog Romey, other than he is absolutely adorable, cuddly and loves to play. Romeo has a great temperament and absolutely loves fetch. He is not only looks like a little stuffed animal, but is just like a little boy.
He is mischievous in every way and is very smart. He loves to be held and snuggled, but loves to me outside and run around. I live in a big city and so I have to walk him instead of just letting him out in a backyard, and everyone on our street, and even in the neighborhood knows his name, but not even mine lol People know him because so many people talk about how precious he is. Every time someone sees him they ask me what kind of dog he is and when they ask me his name and I tell them Romeo, they say, "Ohhhhh Romeo, he is a little Romeo."
He has the softest hair, doesn't shed and is one of my most favorite things in the world. He is very protective over me and is always always always happy.
He is a wonderful dog and I would recommend a Morkie dog to anyone. However, every dog is work and if you aren't willing to spend the time training and taking care of them I wouldn't suggest buying one. All I know is I absolutely love my Romeo!
Energetic Morkie Dog - Rocco
by Kristina
(Rochester Hills, Mi, U.S.A)
My Morkie dog Rocco has a very energetic personality. He is very smart and playful, but at the same time can be very loving. Not only does he play well with other dogs, but with little children too. Rocco knows not to play rough even if kids get a little rough with him.
He is a very playful dog during the day, but when it comes to night time he cuddles up right next to me. My Morkie does not like to be by himself, he loves being around people. It was a little difficult to housebreak Rocco, but it only took him 2 months and never had a mistake since.
Rocco is very special because he is everything I have ever wanted in a dog all in one.
Sweet Morkie Dog - Ellie
by Nikki Maki
(Hoyt Lakes, MN, USA)
Ellie enjoying the outdoors.
Our 19 month old Morkie dog is the best. We have 5 kids between the ages of 4-9 and she is wonderful with them.
Ellie loves to cuddle, play tug-o-war, fetch, go for walks and car rides and more. She is a quiet sweet dog who only gets loud when someone comes to the door, but then continues to lick our guests like crazy.
We are so happy with our choice of pets and would recommend Morkie dogs anyone!
Ginger Morkie Dog - Ginny
by Amanda
(Buffalo, NY)
My Morkie dog Ginny (short for Ginger, her main color) has become my best friend. As a 26-year-old Ph.D. student, I spend a lot of time in my apartment studying and I needed a companion. I also felt it was high time I gave my parents a "grand-doggie."
Ginny is a ever-changing shade of ginger with white on her chest, tummy, and right at the tip of her tail. Sometimes her hair grows in creamier in color, other times it is dark ginger.
Her personality is extremely lovable, at times obstinate, always energetic and very sweet. On "quiet days" in the home office, she is quite content curling up at my feet with a rawhide or laying behind me on my office chair (yes, we both fit!). She has active spurts in which she tears around my apartment from room to room in a blur of color.
She is (note present tense) difficult to house-break. She is nine months old, and has, at this point, 96% success on her piddle-pads (she doesn't go outside). Sometimes she misses, sometimes she goes in bouts were she stubbornly decides she's going to go in front of the pad rather than on it. As soon as she makes a mistake, she seems to know it, walking around with her ears pressed back and tail between her legs.
Ginny has a deformed lower jaw, making it stick out far beyond the "classic underbite" of the Maltese. This doesn't slow down her eating at all, and gives her a cocky, toothy "smile". However, in the future my vet says she may need special food or dental work.
She is smart, having learned "sit", "stay", "come here," and "lay'n'stay" (all one word!) at four months old, and seemed to inherently "know" how to fetch as soon as she was big enough to toddle around with a toy. Other times, she can seem quite dense - one of her favorite games is to submerge her whole muzzle into her water dish and blow bubbles.
As I type this, she is stretched out at my side enjoying the warmth of a quilt and a laptop - hallmarks of a relaxed Saturday afternoon together.
On a whole, my Morkie dog Ginny stole my heart and has been continuing to do so every minute of every day - from waking up in the morning together to playing fetch in the afternoons, to curling up on the sofa to watch a good crime drama (she watches the TV - really!). She's my love.
I know this sounds like I'm bragging about my little Morkie girl - but isn't that what these threads are for? Putting our "sons" and "daughters" in the spotlight? =D
Morkie Dog - Pebbles
by Naomi
(Los Angeles, CA)
Pebbles..cute and curious.
Pebbles is such a joy. I got my Morkie dog when she was five weeks old and 1.7 lbs. Now she is 4 yrs old and 10 lbs. She has such a personality! There are many times I just sit and watch, laughing at all the things she does. She has a little attitude when she gets her feelings hurt but has so much love to give. She insists on giving "kisses" to everyone she meets.
Pebbles resembles mostly the Maltese breed. But has many Yorkie characteristics. Her brother looked exactly like a Yorkie so it always amazes me the variations they come in. I recommend Morkie dogs for most people. They are such smart dogs and keep you smiling.
The most surprising thing for me is how much she loves to be in the water. I started taking her to the beach as a small puppy and now she is a little water dog. She quickly jumps into any pool that she sees people in and wants to join in the fun. Only getting out for her potty breaks.
Black Morkie Dog - Vara
by Claudia
(Quebec, Canada)
Vara is a black Morkie dog that is full of life. She is fun, loving, she loves all animals, small or big dog, cats, everybody.
She is 5 months and weights 2.8 lbs. She is small, but really healthy. She loves to play all the time, take walk. She doesn’t like water, but other than that she is wonderful.
We love our Morkie so much!
Morkie Dog - Hercules
by Tiffany
(Ottawa, ON )
My little Morkie dog Hercules is tiny as can be and is about 5 pounds, if that.
He is very energetic and extremely needy. He needs attention all the time and loves to cuddle.
He is the best little buddy to have as he never leaves your side and is extremely loyal to his owners. He will not listen to anyone if my husband and I are around, although he will behave fine with a stranger if we are away.
He learned how to sit and lie down at 7 months and learned fast! He listens really well, but we had a really hard time housebreaking. He is now a year old now and still has accidents in the house.
He will go outside on a regular basis, as long as we keep an eye on the last time he went out. He has a hard time telling us he needs to go out, or waiting.
He doesn't chew on furniture but is obsessed with PAPER lol. He barks at strangers and also still objects lol. For example on Halloween, he barked at a scarecrow for about an hour lol
He can't tell the difference between human and fake objects I guess, but it is pretty funny.
he just recently trained himself to pee in the bathtub as we keep him in the bathroom when we are away, which is great!
He is very smart and absolutely loveeeeees to sleep alot. He is also very energetic but doesn't overwhelm guest or get in their way as he is always stuck by his owners.
He doesn't shed, ever. He has hair like humans but it knots ALOT, and we need to groom him regularly as the knots can get right to the skin and hurt him.
He had ALOT of ear infections due to the hair growing in his ears until I was told to pull the hair out quickly so that moisture doesn't collect in his ears from the hair.
He also grew a MASS in his side from his second needle which was caused from the serum from the shot... if you feel a lump after your puppies first or second shot, tell your vet to contact the company that supplies the shot because the surgery to remove the mass was covered by them.
He is the best thing I ever did and remains soooooooo tiny and stays soooooooo cute.
He is definitely alot of work, so if you don't have time please do not purchase a Morkie. They need alot of love and attention all the time.
Hercules cries if we aren't paying attention to him.. its so cute.
If you do have the time, Morkies are WONDERFUL companions to have. He is apart of our family and we love him very much!!

Morkie Dog - MoJo
by debbie
(Malvern, Pa)
MoJo looking like a sweet little Angel
MoJo is new to our family and is a 1 1/2 yr. old Morkie dog. He is very cute. With Apricot/tan coloring & weighing 7 lbs, he is a ball of energy but really loves to cuddle as well.
We are having a hard time house breaking him but I think it may be because of the presence of our other dog. MoJo is a pretty good listener until we take him outside. He then decides he is on his own and doesn't listen very well. Our Morkie seems to be much more sensitive to the sights, sounds & smells of the outdoors then any of our other dogs. I'm not sure how to correct this problem. Anyone have any tips for us?
Fun Morkie Dog - Bella
by Charlie Plyler
(Mobile, AL)
Bella the Morkie just stopping for a picture
Bella is a Morkie dog that is full of energy and life. She loves to play with Scrappy, our Maltese puppy, and Tigger the cat. They have a great time.
She loves attention and to give affection. Like any other puppy, she'll grab a sock (or any other article of clothing) and take off. Part of the fun of Morkie dogs, I guess.
Loveable Morkie Dog - Arnold
by Sue Rice
(Williamsport, MD, USA)
Our Morkie dog is a rascal! But so lovable. He allows our Rat Terrier to eat first before he eats and never bothers her while she's eating even though she is much, much smaller than he is -- what a gentleman!
Arnold loves to race in circles and he goes for walks on the C&O Canal with my husband. He is soon going to go tent camping with our Morkie overnight. I am sure he will enjoy it immensely.
Morkie Dog - Tanner

Tanner as a puppy and all grown up
Tanner is a wonderful Morkie dog very mellow but playful and wonderful with our children who are 7 and 5.
He weighs 11 pounds which is nice because the kids can't break him. He looks just like a Yorkie.
Black Morkie Dog - Bella

Bella is one of the cutest black Morkie dogs. She love it outside and loves her kennel. She tries to dance when the music is on. Bella sleeps sometimes. Bella is a hyper Morkie dog and loves people.
Morkie Dog - Jovi
by The Cook Family
(Saugus, MA-USA)
Jovi (our Morkie)
Jovi is an awesome little Morkie dog. Weighing in at a little over 5lbs, he just turned (1) year old on 01/19/11. We purchased him from a well-known breeder in Missouri and have had nothing but fun and love with him. Our Morkie loves to play hard and likes to take naps just as much. He does not mind, in fact he loves to take rides in the car. Usually has enough excercise in the house, but does enjoy a nice walk now and then. Jovi does not shed and always has a nice smell to him. Very fast to be trained, goes to door when he needs to do his business, explores around and comes right back in. He loves to cuddle up in his afghan and sit with you while watching TV. You would think, being a small breed he would be a yipper, but he only barks to let you know someone is coming near or to get your attention to play with him. I would highly reccomend a Maltese Yorkie mix to anyone. I never thought I'd enjoy a small little dog after having a 105lb Golden Retriever, but our Morkie is the world to us.
Morkie Dog - Phoebe
by Deidre
(Arlington, TX)
Phoebe on her 1st birthday last year!
My sweet Morkie dog, Phoebe, is almost 2 years old now! She definitely has Yorkie coloring, and that sweet Maltese face. She is considered toy, weighing in at a whopping 4 pounds!
Pheebs is extremely lovable and likes following me around the house! She is energetic- loves to play with her toys, bones, and run around outside as long as she can!
Now that she is a little bit older, she is perfectly content with sitting in my lap or next to me wherever I am in the house. My Morkie is always very quiet! She hardly ever makes a peep, unless someone is at the front door or she hears a noise outside at night. She has never met a stranger and welcomes everyone with a wagging tail and lots of kisses!
Morkie Dog Rescue - Sadie
by Jessica and Kendra
(U.P. of Michigan)
I was originally planning on getting a cat from the Humane Society and ended up coming out with our Morkie dog rescue Sadie. I fell in love with her at first sight. Sadie is our three year old spunk. She has so much personality in her small body. She's a larger Morkie with her weighing nine pounds and I wouldn't ever give her up.
She loves to cuddle with me and greets me at the door with a bunch of kisses. She loves being high up on couches, in your lap, or on the bed. She is so much of a homebody that she gets lonely without me and if I don't give her enough attention, she will jump on her back legs to make sure her mom knows that she is there.
Sadie also sleeps with me behind my knees and has her own two special blankets and is cranky in the morning. She grumbles and talks in the morning until I get up and feed her, then she is as playful as ever. I couldn't imagine not having my Morkie dog Sadie to fill that spot in my heart and life. My partner also couldn't imagine not having her, despite her being a big dog lover. Whenever anyone says that the big dog is more of a companion and small dogs are more like cats without personality, we just say that Sadie has enough personality for two big dogs!

Milo & Santa
My Morkie dog is 1 1/2 years old now and is a complete joy. He's extremely intelligent and has a very expressive face. I just adore that little dog! I get him groomed every 6-8 weeks. The groomer calls it a puppy cut.
I would recommend a Morkie to anyone... love him to pieces!

Energetic Morkie Dog - Geno
Geno is a very energetic Morkie dog!! He loves playing with toys and running around in the yard. He was pretty easy to train. However, he started to bark at people around 7-8 months old after we got him neutered.
If he doesn't know you, he's not very friendly and doesn't "attack" but acts like he is going to bite you but instead barks. He usually does this when we're around him, but if we are not around him, he is a lot better with strangers - I think it is a protective dominance thing.
My Morkie is the cutest!! He gets so excited when we come home, he follows our every move around the house. He hates being left alone.
Little Morkie Dog - Dixie
by Jo
(Canada)
My Morkie dog is almost 8 weeks old. She is a sweet, cute little girl. She also has the attitude of a giant. She already knows how to push open a closed door and is taking to being paper trained quite well.
We decided to train her on both paper and to go outside, because our winters can get to -40C in the winter before the wind blows. Right now, she can climb up the couch, can jump of her kennel (which we are trying to stop) and never met a toe that she doesn't like to chew.
Now, my Morkie is in my arms having just woken up from a nap. She sleeps in her crate and squeaks when she is ready to be let out. She is extra special because she is the runt of the litter, and the cutest. She still has that new puppy smell as well. She is my little girl.
Black Morkie Dog - Buddy Boy
(Kansas)
Buddy is a 10 month old black Morkie dog who was rescued from an abusive situation. Initially he was rather afraid of most people, especially me, but over time he has grown to trust people upon first meeting them. At this point I can say with confidence that my Morkie causes more havoc and mayhem per pound than any other creature to have ever existed in all discovered and undiscovered dimensions :)
Morkie Dog - Molly
by Clarissa Wadle
(Alma,MI,U.S.A)
Molly is my 18 month old Morkie dog. She is my best friend and protector. She doesn't let anyone get near me when she's sitting on my lap. She thinks that she has to dominate all other animals big or small. She's very smart. Ive got her so she knows certain people's names and recognizes who I'm telling to find.
She has no reality of danger when we're in the car. She thinks she has to have her whole body out the window so I have to hold her. I love her alot and I think the Morkie mixed breed is my favorite!

My Morkie dog Jupiter is 1 year and 3 months. He is a little fur ball of terror weighing in at about 7 pounds. He has all of the physical traits of a Maltese, with the spunkiness of a Yorkie. He is a little doll. He likes to start trouble with his big Brother Jack (my Silky Terrier).

Morkie Dog - Madison
by Pamela K. Hutchinson
(New Haven, MI)
Madison says Hello.
Madison is all that other Morkie dog owners have said. She is beautiful, smart, playful, loving, and well behaved.
She is a wonderful companion and travels in the car very well. She likes to be involved in everything including group hugs. She is pad trained which is much better for her during the winter. I do not have to put her outside in the cold or deep snow.
Some of the ways my Morkie communicates with me is to push her water dish out in the middle of the kitchen floor when I have forgotten to fill it up. Sneeze and snort in the morning when she thinks it is time to get up. She will bark at the bedroom door during the night if she wants to go use her pad. She will brrrufff to warn me of possible dangers out the window. She will sit and stare at me until I look at her then she will go to the pantry door and bark when she thinks it time for a treat. She will run up her stairs to my desk and nudge my arm when she wants to be petted or scratched. Oh, and she will lay on her back and hug your hand with her front paws when she is loving the attention.
She comes when called, will sit and lay down by command or by hand signal, and she will heel when walking. She loves to play keep away with her Wubba, and I think tug-o-war is her favorite game. In the car my Morkie dog will sit on my left leg and look out the window until I tell her to move over and then she will lay down on the passenger seat so I can hook up her safety restraints.
I could go on, but I will just say, "She is the best!"
Morkie Dog - Bailey
by Claudia
(Fincastle, VA)
Bailey, one year old
Our Morkie dog Bailey is beautiful, spunky, intelligent and thoroughly lovable. We brought Bailey home at 11 weeks and she is 16 months old right now. She weighs 10 lbs.
From the first week, she learned what piddle pads are for and she rings a bell on our door to tell us she needs to go out. Of course, she also uses the bell to get our attention. If we don't give her enough, she slams the bell with her paw and talks to it. Our Morkies best friend, other than her Mommy and Daddy, is our cat, Blackie. She tries to pull him around by his ear, his paw, anything she can grab. He tolerates her, and when he has enough, he stalks outside.
I would get another Morkie in a heartbeat, they are just the best.

My little boy
My little Morkie dog is the best dog ever. He is the funniest dog. He jumps on the couch and than jumps off and runs crazy sliding every where. He also will lay right on my chest.
I got him for Christmas about 2 years ago now im 15 and I still treat him like hes a new "toy". He hates when I'm gone so we take him everywhere even the movies and the store and out of the country. He even has his own passport!
My little Morkie dog is so spoiled but also the best dog he never barks and is overall crazy loving and a great pup when I go to college hes coming to I'll sneek him in lol.
I love him to death and he has like the best name ever but we call him Jack or Black-Jack and Jackie or my baby boy I was going to name him foo foo cuddle poops but that wouldn't be very nice.

Ain't I just a cutie???!!!!
This is Izzy my 14 month old Morkie dog! She is all "dolled" up to go visiting! We got her when she was 4 months old. Her other owners couldn't keep her because their Bulldogs wouldn't leave her alone.
She gets along famously with my 8 year old Yorkie Molly! They run and play all over the house and the yard. She also loves my two cats! My life would not be the same without her!!
Morkie Dog - Gizzy AKA Gizmo
by Sarah
(Ridgeway, VA)
Our lovely Gizzy
We got our Morkie dog Gizzy when he was 1 year old. His former owners had bought him to breed him with their other dog and once they got a litter, it wasn't enough love or attention available to be given to Gizzy, so they sold him to me.
He instantly warmed up to our family and was an instant hit with my 5 year old son. The previous owners had kept his hair long, but I decided to cut it and keep it short because it's alot less maintenance involved. Plus I think he looks alot cuter with a short cut. He's a doll baby to say the least.
As far as his personality goes, he is a huge sweetie. Very affectionate and LOVES attention. He also loves to give kisses and be held and cuddled. He is a good little watch dog...he loves to be in the living room window so he sees everything that's going on outside. When company comes over, he is protective at first, but warms up to you very quickly!
He's a great little dog and we are very blessed to have him in our family.
