My Shihtzu Maltese mix is a devoted companion with lots of personality. Does not bite, easily trained. Loves to play enjoys company of people & other dogs. My Shihtzu Maltese is so lovable as well as adorable.
First of all let me tell you about my Shihtzu Maltese mix His Majesty...a personality that only a mother could love...He is still getting potty trained so he has to be well loved to take outside at 11pm and then at 7am. But thank the gods above that he sleeps all night in his crate without tears being shed...
Now about his possessions....which consists of 6 balls, a rope with a ball attached, milkbones and last but not least His Majesty also has his own shampoo and conditioner...wow..a dog that doesn't spell like a dog...Unbelievable..but true.
Prynce is very playful at times but when he is ready to retire to his chambers he will certainly let everyone around him know...Furthermore, my Maltese Shihtzu is a prince for sure.

I have MS and wanted a dog that was small enough that I could have on my lap and would not hurt me but that was not so fragile that I had to worry about hurting him. When my Maltese Shitzu mix CJ came into my life, I instantly fell in love. He was a three pounds when I got him and an instant snuggle bug. He knows when I hurt. He is very in tune to how I am doing from day to day. He is also my motivation to stay mobile because I love to take him on walks when I am able.
It is amazing to me to see so much personality in such a little dog. He has a thing for teddy bears. They are bigger than he is, but he loves to sleep with them. One day I found my Shitzu mix sitting in front of the patio doors looking out and he had drug both of his bears so that they could look out the window as well. It makes you wonder what is going on in their little minds.
I highly recommend this breed to anyone who is dealing with a long term debilitating illness. Having them around is sure to make you smile.

We rescued our Shihtzu Maltese mix from a puppy store. I say that because we got him and he was very sick. He has been on his meds and is getting healthier. WOW what a great dog!!
We decided on a 2nd dog for my family I would only agree if it was a non shedding little dog. Boy did I make a great choice. He so playful great with my Golden who I might add is a 90lb. dog who is so gentle with him. max just follows his lead. My two boys love him so much. Our Shihtzu Maltese is such a great addition to our family.

I found Heidi on an online ad. I have always desperately wanted a Shih Tzu. For my birthday last year my husband got me a Shih Tzu mix! We named her Lady and we love her dearly. Well as she became older she seemed like she could use a friend! So I began searching for a little Shih Tzu. I was so blessed to find her in an add. Belonging to a woman about my age and living about an hour away. Then she informed me she was a Maltese/Shih Tzu. No problem for me! We set up a meeting for a few days later. I knew she was born to be my baby! When I saw the wonderful young lady walking up with my Heidi wrapped in a blanket she almost jumped out of her arms to come to me. She has been 100% attatched to me since. She gets along beautifully with my Lady as well and they are best friends! They sleep with us everynight. However Lady became more of my hubby's doggie and of course my amazing Heidi follows me everywhere. No matter what. She is always needing to be where mamma is! We have 3 small children, one of which is a little over a year old and Heidi adores her too. I took her to a new groomer today and she was a little nervous of course, shaking and stuff. So I handed the groomer one of my 1 year old baby's blankies and Heidi camled down immediatly :) she is by far the sweetest, cuddliest dogs I have ever seen. And she is Gorgeous to boot! Here is a picture of my sweet angel.

I got Tiffany about a month ago from someone who couldn't care for her anymore. Our Maltese Shih Tzu mix is a very nice addition to our family. After we got her she multiplied, and now we have five little puppies. I think her looks are more like the Shih Tzu. her nose is more stubby, her eyes are a little bulgy and her tail curls over her back. but her hair is thin and one layered like the Maltese and her legs look longer then the Shih Tzu's.
Her personality is very sweet and friendly, she loves people and especially children. She's more quiet and laid back indoors and is very silly and energetic when we go for walks. She can be stubborn at times when she doesn't want to go home after a walk or when she wants to do something. She only barks at a knock on the door. She's not a yapping dog at all. She is the sweetest dog I've ever met and I'm very happy she's a part of my life and I have wonderful homes set up for all of her puppies. Which they look Shih Tzu. I think the Malshi is a perfect dog.

Louie is almost 3 years old. He is the cutest little Maltese Shih tzu dog ever!! And has given us much pleasure. He is playful and sweet. Although he is afraid of cars, bikes and children who chase him. He is very good with small gentle children. Loves adults and his unstuffed raccoon and red ball. He is very attentive to my husband and me... if we sneeze he comes immediately to lick our faces and fix us up! He's mostly white but has a little black strip on his left ear and if his hair is long you can't see the little black specs on his back.

She's a new addition to our family of 2 dogs (a Pom and a Yorkie) and 3 cats. My Shih Tzu Maltese fits right in immediately and wanted to play with everyone. Luckily, our cats and dogs already get along great and all play together. She was born 11/14/11 so is 9 weeks old today. She weighs 2 1/2 lbs and is very healthy per my vet. She's very active and playful but also loves to snuggle and lick your nose. Healthy appetite and already knows to "go" on the pee pads we have here in the house for her. Looking forward to many years of love and fun with her!

Not only is our Shih Tzu Maltese mix absolutely adorable and very playful, she is also very independent and has a true mind of her own. She is very well mannered and LOVES children. She gets along with ALL dogs that are willing and knows when to keep her distance otherwise. She is such a delight to wake up to and spend the day with! Except for work (I sneak her in sometimes) we never leave home without her.
