Our Silkese dog Motley is now about 3 years old. He came into our empty nester life to fill the void left by the children. Now we dont miss the kids as "Mot" fills in nicely. He is the friendliest dog I have ever met, he loves everyone. Can be mad, running around the house bouncing of the furnature or snoozing the day away. Our Silkese is always at the door to greet you or visitors with a silly rubber bone in his mouth. Wouldn't part with him for the earth.

Tootsie is a female Silkese or Silky Terrier Maltese mix. She is 6 months old. Very playful and lovable. Still housebreaking, almost there. I look forward to coming home to take care of her.
She keeps my Toy Poodle company who is 15 years old they are a good pair she is active he is not. I let her out in the yard and she runs around like crazy. She also loves her walks in the afternoon. She does not like loud noises. And she does not bark much.
I just love her to pieces. My three year old daughter gets a kick out of her. She is very loved by all members of my family.

Our Silkese Riley is 3 years old. When we adopted Riley, his name was Wiley, but many of the grandchildren called him Riley. Now he is called both Wiley and Riley depending on who is talking to him. He knows and answers to both names.
Riley is the most loving dog ever. He loves to be babied and cuddled, but also has an independent streak when he doesn't want to be bothered. Our Silkese gets a real attitude when he doesn't get his way or feels as if he had been offended.
The whole family fights over who gets Riley. With 4 children, each of who have children of their own, there is a constant battle of when Riley can spend the night with them. Our Maltese Silky dog loves to go visiting different people, and will sometimes whine when people start to leave the house without him - he likes to go, too.
My husband likes to act like Riley means little to him. However, he can't stand when he goes on his overnight visits and will call the grand kids 2-3 times to make sure he's all right.

My Silkese is very playful and friendly she loves to lick you alot all you have to do is talk to her and she licks you. She is very smart and learns tricks very easy. She is always finding new ways to cause trouble. she has learned how to open my bedroom door so she can lay on my bed.

Lulu is a very funny and loving little Silkese dog. She's very active and very protective and sometimes has a grumpy streak if she's settled down and become very comfortable but never bites and if she does she comes cuddling up to you to say sorry. She's always ready to play and is such a sweet natured dog, although my cat would tell you otherwise as she is always chasing him around the house. Lu Lu has been relatively easy to teach tricks to (lie down, sit, shake, roll over, stand, and she even jumps through a hoop) but when it comes to teaching her discipline (barking, toilet training, and not trying to take the food from your mouth) she hasn't quite got all that down (but that may be due to the trainer rather than her). Lulu was my first dog and I love her to bits.

Teddy is about seven months old and is such a delight. My Maltese Silky cross is small but happy, intelligent and affectionate. His favourite game is 'fetch'. He and my 17 yo Foxy Chihuahua cross (Trixie) are pretty good friends though Teddy is far more rambunctious than Trixie. She gets a little cross with him sometimes for not wanting to stop playing.
My (also 17 yo) cat is still pretty agile and doesn't mind Teddy trying to chase him. He falls over on one side and waits for Teddy to go tearing by, swiping at him as he goes. Teddy has learned to give my cat a wide berth.
We love our little Maltse Silky dog Teddy.

Our male Silkese or 'Milky' is a very inquisitive little chap to say the least!! He is 11 months old and is just starting to behave. We love our Maltese Silky dog dearly, he is really cute and playful and does quirky things like trying to chew my bangles on my arm and chew my fingernails. He does drive me crazy though with his stubbornness, chewing the house and constant barking- it has been a challenge to train him. He is a terrier through and through, but we are working towards better doggy behavior. We love our little Mikey the milky!! Little dog, big character!

Lucy is my little Silkese (Maltese Silky Terrier mix). She is just over 5 months old now and its amazing how she carries many of the Maltese characteristics while having the coat of a Silky Terrier. She is lively, loves to play all the time and is just a perfect puppy!

Chewbucca is the newest member of our family, we have only had our Silkese now for 4 days, and he is really adjusting well. I have four kids and they are busy so he fits right in with the chaos. He is doing pretty well with training, more so he seems to go better if I take him out as apposed to one of the kids doing it. he sleeps through the night (although last night he got up once), he has been beside me and he LOVES to cuddle and be close, he is a ball of energy we take him in the yard and he loves playing and chasing us. Hoping the yapping can be toned down a bit, i'm reading as much as I can on how so any advice would be appreciated.
