Yorkie Maltese Mix Puppy - Misty Rose
I love my Yorkie Maltese mix puppy! Misty's Mommy was Yorkie 5 1/2 lbs and Daddy was Maltese 3lbs. Misty is now 4 1/2 months and weighs 6.7 lbs.
She is a wild woman and loves to bite. The only time she is quiet is in the afternoons, but at night she is absolutely wild. The word No just makes her more aggressive, but we love her and working with her.
UPDATE
Misty is really settling down, she isn't as hyper as she was, (thank-goodness) She is as pretty as a picture. (of course I would think so) I am waiting for her to lose those little sharp teeth so my arms and hands can get a rest. Her hair is so thick that if I don't brush her every day it matts. I guess all Maltese are that way, but she does have beautiful fur. She is a real lover.
Our girl is reaching her 6 month birthday. She just got her first hair cut which is very short, for her hair is so thick that it takes a long time to brush each morning. She weighs 8+ lbs now and stands 10" from floor to shoulders. She is a little spoiled and has everything she wants. Would you say that she has her mom wrapped around her little paw??

Yorkie Maltese Mix Puppy - Lilli
by Susan
(Pleasanton)
Lilliputian at 3 months old
Lilli (now 6 months) is a very energetic Yorkie Maltese mix puppy that loves everyone, people and dogs alike. She can be cautious of new situations, but I think that comes with any new experience for new pups, yes? She learns quickly, in fact she picked up basic obedience commands at a young age (by 12 weeks) and was performing them consistently in puppy class before all the big dogs. ROFL! Eat your heart out Labradors!
On a serious level, she is very easy going in the house, but likes to keep a cache of toys in a bin, which she pulls out in the middle of the floor to play. She jumps from toy to toy, batting them around with cat-like movements. Pouncing, batting, and throwing her toys (breaking their necks). Sorry for the visual. ;-) She also likes to jump inside her purse bag (the one I put her in when we go shopping) and play inside it. She jumps in, she jumps out, she jumps in, she jumps out. It is all a game for Lilli. She just has fun, fun, fun!
She is very intelligent, this is something I am discovering QUICKLY! I have another intelligent dog, which I thought was the smartest dog I would ever own.
Lilli is a companion in the house. She communicates with me by nudging me to tell me something. Or, sometimes she gives a few errant barks to get my attention, or a point in the direction of something she wants, or looks at my other dog if she wants to get my attention toward her. She likes to spend time outdoors in the back and communicate with the other dogs...if one barks, she will return the barks, but she isn't excessive (thank you GAWD).
I'm truly grateful for Lilli. She is a beautiful little spirit inside a 9 pound body. I love her more and more each day.
Yorkie Maltese Mix Puppy - Trixie
by Hollie

She loves getting her belly rubbed!
My Yorkie Maltese mix puppy Trixie is 12 weeks old now. When we first got her, she weighed 2lbs and now she is up to 2.5 lbs. Her dad was a Maltese that weighed 3.5lbs and her mom was a Yorkie that weighed about 6 lbs.
Everyone who meets Trixie just loves her. She is so much fun and I love spending all of my time with her. She bounces around when she plays and she looks like a little rabbit. Now she is chewing everything in sight, including hands and feet... but we just give her a chew toy and she seems to love that. She is doing pretty good with potty training. She has accidents every once in a while, but we can tell when she has to go because she runs around sniffing or she will whine and bark by the door to let her out. She usually goes outside, but she also uses her puppy piddle pads when she can't get outside.
Everything about my Yorkie Maltese mix puppy just cracks me up. She is very playful, but loves to snuggle right up next to my head on my pillow when she is ready for bed. She also paws really fast at the pillow as if she has to get it just right before she lays down which is so funny! She loves to play with all dogs and cats, sometimes even if they don't like to play with her. She is also getting used to the leash so we can take her for walks now. Me and my boyfriend (and everyone else who sees her) just love her and can't imagine life without her! She has such a personality and attitude all packed into her tiny little body!

Yorkie Maltese Mix Puppy - Cookie

Baby Cookie the Yorkie Maltese Mix Puppy
My Little Yorkie Maltese mix puppy Cookie is a baby of my Twinkle Star a full bred Maltese and Nicko who was half Yorkie and half Maltese. Twinkle had three little girls in the this litter, One was snow white and the other two had black and brown tipping on them. They were the sweetest most darling baby puppies.
We decided to keep the littlest and name her Cookies and Creme. She is a tiny under 4lbs... Happy and friendly. We just adore her little face... smaller than the Maltese face more like a tiny Yorkie face. She is smart and funny and lays on her back just like her Mama...
Yorkie Maltese Mix Puppy - Ruby
by Gillian
(Staten Island, NY)
My Yorkie Maltese mix puppy is only 8 weeks old and at last weigh in she was 9 oz's. She is probably about 12-13 oz's now. the personality is wonderful and I got her so young because the mom rejected pup's at 6 weeks.
She is 70 percent paper trained already it so hard to believe that for something so small in age and size is so smart. I also have a male Maltese at about 14 lbs they are getting closer everyday. My male is named Max so with 4 grandchildren I thought of the cartoon show "Ruby and Max" when naming my Yorkie Maltese mix puppy.
Yorkie Maltese Mix Puppy - Bailey

Our little flower
Bailey has stolen our hearts. Our Yorkie Maltese mix puppy has trained really easy and rarely has an accident in the house and is only three months old.
We think Bailey is mostly Yorkie because she has all the Yorkie coloring and hair texture. She is only three pounds at three months.
Here's what our Yorkie Maltese mix puppy looks like a 4 months old.
Yorkie Maltese Mix Puppy - Libby

Little Libby Lu
I had no idea that my new Yorkie Maltese mix puppy was such a popular mixed breed! Her father is a Maltese and her mother is a Yorkie, I just thought she was a cute mix! I was visiting family in Missouri, and I saw her with her brothers, and I knew there was no way I could leave without her. She was 7 weeks old and weighed 1 pound 2 ounces. She was the runt of the litter, but very feisty.
Over the last few weeks, I have fallen in love with this little baby! I CANNOT resist her little face. She has a little bit of an attitude, but she is so lovable. She is very ferocious and brave, she will take on my 70 pound Golden Retriever like she thinks she can win. Thankfully my Golden is gentle with her.
Potty training is slow going, but we'll get there. These are great little dogs, and I am so happy to see that Yorkie Maltese puppies are a recognized hybrid dog breed.
Yorkie Maltese Mix Puppy - Addie

Sweet Addie
We have the most precious pup. She is a Yorkie Maltese mix puppy and is almost 8 mos old.
Yesterday I found out she has Legg-Perthes disease. We are devastated. We had an x-ray taken when we had her spayed. She just came home from today and I scheduled an appointment with the surgeon for next week. We will have to wait several weeks to do the surgery to fix her hip. I am so worried about her disposition. I know she doesn't understand why we are putting her thru this pain. I know it is a very successful surgery and can allow her to be pain free, but when I look in those little brown eyes it breaks my heart.
She has the best personality, she is sweet and is very well behaved. -She was even very easy to potty train. We are totally in love with this little fur ball. I can't believe this is happening to her. It came on so suddenly. With in 3 weeks she has started just crying when you picked up and squeezed her hip. Then she started holding her leg up. Now the x-ray shows abnormality in the joint.
Has anyone else been through this? From what I have read this disease is common in Yorkies. I would love to hear from someone who has experienced this first hand. Please keep our baby in your prayers!
Yorkie Maltese Mix Puppy - Annabella Marie Howard
by Debbie
(Hesperia, CA)
I am a great Christmas gift!
Our new Yorkie Maltese mix puppy Annabelle is spunky and bright. In less than 1 week of outside training she has few accidents and even grabs her sweater when she needs to go potty.
She loves playing with Daddy, snuggling with Mommy, and trying to sneak kitty kibbles.
She runs around like a maniac about 4 times a day, and she is becoming stronger and more coordinated as each day passes.
So far she is fairly mindful, but as time goes on, we will see if that lasts. (The kibbles do seem to keep calling her!). To date she weighs 2-1/2lbs.
Yorkie Maltese Mix Puppy - Darla
by Ashleigh
(Birmingham, Alabama)
Little Darla playing outside in the fantastic February weather! It was like 65 degrees in Alabama, something she was definitely not used to in Missouri.
I've had little Yorkie Maltese mix puppy Darla now for 5 weeks. I found her on an internet site and flew to go pick her up and bring her home. I was a little apprehensive about buying a dog on the internet, but so far she has been great company.
Even in just those short 5 weeks she thinks she owns the place. I also have a 125 pound Black Lab who just ignores her. Darla wouldn't think twice about going head to head with him, any chance she gets she's "like bring it on Buddy!" (which actually is his name. haha) But aside from the slight denial over her size, she is the sweetest and funniest little dog I've ever owned. She is amazingly intelligent.
She has never had an accident in her crate and will go directly to a puppy pad (if ones available) otherwise she chooses the carpet over the tile floor! haha but we are working on that. She loves to cuddle and give kisses, she will sleep right next to my head if I'm laying on the couch. She loves to play fetch, but hates car rides.
Her attitude is 100% Yorkie... very stubborn, but she has the devotion of a Maltese. If I leave the room whether she's alone or being held by someone else, she will be very attentive and watch the door that I left from until I come back. She doesn't cry or make a fuss, but just watches patiently.
In just these short 5 weeks I can tell we have a fantastic bond that will last many years to come.
Yorkie Maltese Mix Puppy - Riley

Riley relaxing in the cat's bed.
Our Yorkie Maltese mix puppy Riley was born Feb 5th 2009, now five months old. He's in dog school but it's slow going, so is the house training. But I love him.
Here in this picture our Maltese Yorkie mix just had his first haircut, it was in his eyes and matting on his body. He and his sister Maggie, a 1 year old Cockapoo, are inseparable.
Yorkie Maltese Mix Puppy - Jack
by Tany
(West Palm Beach, FL)
Our Yorkie Maltese mix puppy is 3mos old. He bites alot. Toys don't seem to be a satisfactory replacement. Nyla bones only keep his attention for a few minutes. "no" is starting to work though.
He barks alot, at least it seems that way to me as I have an 9 mo old Chi Chi and she has only barked 3 times in 4 1/2 months. Our Yorkie Maltese mix has some anxiety issues and the noise that comes from this 1 1/2 lbs dog is incredible. It's not so much a whine its more like screeching barks.
I'm not used to all this as my other 3 dogs didn't exhibit these types of puppy behaviors. I've been reading everything on both the Maltese and Yorkie breeds to try to help me with training. He's cute as can be once you finally get him tired enough to sit still in your lap. ;-)
Yorkie Maltese Mix Puppy - Sadie
by Jess
(Virginia)
My little Yorkie Maltese mix puppy Sadie is only 5 weeks old! She is still with her mama who is the Maltese. Her mom was surrendered to a local rescue organization, where SURPRISE she was pregnant.
We thought the puppies would be Malteses b/c she was surrendered with another Maltese, but they came out to be multi-colored Yorkie Maltese puppies! The owner also had a Yorkie, and turns out he was the daddy!
Sadie gets to come to my home on Thanksgiving! And I CAN NOT wait!!!
Yorkie Maltese Mix Puppy - Princess
by Melinda
(Mesa, AZ, USA)
Princess is our Yorkie Maltese mix puppy and is only about 3 1/2 months old. She is an awesome dog. She is absolutely adorable, doesn't bark excessively, and is a true love bug.
She gets along wonderful with one of our cats and is constantly trying to get the other cat to warm up to her.
Potty training seems like a chore, mostly because she pees so little, but so many times. We have grown so attached to her so quickly...
Yorkie Maltese Mix Puppy - Jaxon

(Washington)
Cute ears on a Yorkie Maltese mix puppy
Our Yorkie Maltese mix puppy Jaxon is really playful with our four year old Yorkie. When he is not wrestling with our other dog, he enjoys running around in the grass.
He just lost a couple baby teeth and is a little for five months old. Last time he was at the vet he weight a little over 7lbs. He might weight a little more now.
As you can see in the picture he sometimes keeps on ear folded down. At times he will tilt his head and look at me with a confused look when I talk to him.

Yorkie Maltese Mix Puppy - Dulce
by LRG
(Paramount, CA)
Just got a Yorkie Maltese mix puppy for my niece and nephew, a 6 and 4 year old, just because they were always asking for a dog, but their parents didn't want a large dog that required large space. The pup is 6 months old, and the pup is the perfect fit she loves the kids, very independent dog around everyone else but the kids, with the kids she goes nuts and in a couple weeks has grown activity with the kids.
I would definitely recommend a Yorkie Maltese mix to any one who is looking for a active, affectionate dog that does over whelm the house hold.
Yorkie Maltese Mix Puppy - Chevy
by Mary
(Star City, Indiana)
We have had our Yorkie Maltese mix puppy for 3 weeks now. She is very energetic and full of life. She is 10 weeks old and weighs 33oz. She has learned to go outside and was house broke in a week. She loves to catch air by flying off of the couch like a flying squirrel. We have a 2 year old Sheltie that she plays with and can keep up with.
She knows how to sit, ask for treats, and definitely knows the word no. She is very obedient and knows where the treats are at. Do not feed them any rawhide. The stomachs are so small and they ingest the rawhide and it swells in their tummies. We love our Yorkie Maltese puppy Chevy.
Yorkie Maltese Mix Puppy - Dixie
by Lindsay
(Marietta, Ga)
Dixie at 6 months
My Yorkie Maltese mix puppy Dixie is about six months old, and she weights about five and a half pounds. She is black and white, as she has gotten older some silver and brown has started to come in. When I fist got her she barely weighed a pound. D
ixie is very playful, and she has a spunky personality. She is very friendly with other dogs, especially our Black Lab Buck. They are best friends, and she bosses him around. I couldn't have asked for a better dog. She is so loving and sweet. The only problem I have had is potty training her. She tends to have accidents, but since she is so small it is not too bad of a mess.
She is always ready to play, and she loves taking naps and cuddling. I definitely recommend getting a Morkie if you are looking for a small dog. They are so fun, and the mix is beautiful!
Yorkie Maltese Mix Puppy - Theodore
by Kim
(Ontario, Canada)
I often stick my tongue out ! only I know what it means!!!
Theodore is a 4 month old Yorkie Maltese mix puppy. He was litter trained when he first came home but we opted to pee pad train him so now he goes on pee pads as soon as the weather warms up we will start with outside.
Theodore is rambunctious, silly, loyal, verrry funny, very affectionate loves to kiss, he was a little stubborn at first but with consistency and love and praise and determination he now listens to everything, he is very well behaved. He needs to know he does not rule the roost but if you bully him he will not listen you have to give him lost of praise when he does what you wanted him to do.
He follows me EVERYWHERE he is always at my feet. I don't go anywhere without him there even to the bathroom in the middle of the night. He sleeps at my feet or in his bed right beside mine. He is good with cats and other dogs he loves to play fetch with my grandchildren.
Theodore is so much fun to have around there is never a dull moment we laugh at the things he does constantly. Oh and by the way he LOVES slippers!!! Theo is now 7lbs he was 2.2 when we first brought him home.
Theodore is the best Morkie ever we love him very much!
