Yorkie Maltese Mix - Chloe
by Sandy
Who could not love that face!!!
My Yorkie Maltese mix is the best. Sometimes she has one ear up and one down. She loves children. She lays down under my chin to sleep sometimes.
She can be a little devil sometimes also, like taking the toilet paper and running through the house. When she is bad her ears go down and she gives you that look. I have a car seat for her and she loves to look out the window and go for a ride. She is not a yappy dog, She whines a little when I leave, but that is it.
She looks more like a Yorkie, but has the temperament of a Maltese. At 4 months old she does not have the hair of Maltese, but gets a lot of compliments and it has not gone to her head :)
I have adopted my grandson and we fight over her attention :) I guess I will have to just get another one. I have had her only 2 months and could not imagine living without her.

Yorkie Maltese Mix - Princess Mia
by Julia
(Florida)
Learning to drive after playing in the park.
Mia was the most adorable Yorkie Maltese mix. She is about 5 lbs, 1.5 yrs and loves to be loved. I wish my Mom had one before she passed. The perfect lap dog, loyal and protective and WILL alert you of anything that comes near the house.
The Maltese Yorkie mix is the best of both worlds. Color, hair, ears, size... like children, you love the ones you get. Manners is somewhere between how you train and what they have brought to you in personality. Ours is the best, we think.
Everyone loves her, except for the security cop at the mall who is doing his job to keep vicious animals away from the public... she would fit in the stuffed animal bin at Build-a-Bear.
Yorkie Maltese Mix - Izzy
by Debra
(Cookeville, TN)
Just got back from Petco for grooming! She is showing off her hair cut!
My Yorkie Maltese mix Izzy is a wonderful little companion. She bounces around the yard with my Yorkie Molly like a little rabbit! She is very stubborn and strong willed! I love her like crazy! She loves to snuggle and sleeps up against my back at night. She loves to play with my two cats, Charlie and Tigger.
She is a caramel color. She looks more like a Maltese than a Yorkie! I got her to be a companion for both myself and my 9 year old Yorkie. They have become best friends and they play together all the time!
Yorkie Maltese Mix - Louie
by Jenn Davis
(Houston TX)
The many smiles of Louie
I can't imagine my life without my Yorkie Maltese mix named Louie. This crazy character has more energy then a 2 year old. He loves going for walks, jogs, hikes, and car rides.
His favorite toy is always an animal that has a noise box in it to talk to him. He thinks he is 7lbs of pure muscle and owns all the sidewalks, grassy areas, and is definitely my #1 body guard!
All I know is that he is always excited to see me, never wants me to leave, and is always there to listen when I need an ear.
Yorkie Maltese Mix - Sooner
My Babies
This is my two babies... my Yorkie Maltese mix Sooner and my Daughter. Sooner is almost one now, and he is a bundle of fun.
He is very playful and loves to growl at his toys like he is sooooo tough. We can't imagine our life without him.
Special Yorkie Maltese Mix - Maggie
by Tena Fields
(Jackson, TN, USA)
Maggie
Oh my...where to begin?! My husband bought my Yorkie Matlese mix Maggie for me so that I wouldn't be quite so lonely while he was deployed to Iraq.
She is 4 months old and weighs around 4 pounds. She is honey colored, which I have been told is rare. She has 2 white paws which make her look sort of like she is wearing socks.
She loves to cuddle and give kisses. She entertains herself for long periods of time with the strangest things....my socks are her favorite toy in this world! She loves to jump, and will use any opportunity to perfect the art of it. She is so energetic she now prances instead of running. She is very high strung....if her feelings are hurt she makes sure everyone in the room knows it.
Even though she is a puppy she has a ton of facial expressions....when she wants attention she will find a wall, lay down beside it, and cover her eyes with her paws! It is the CUTEST thing I have ever seen. She hates to be brushed, but will normally let me finish. She has hidden her brush three times....thankfully I know her hiding place! :-)
She has become very well known at our apartment complex, and has a growing fan base. I cannot imagine life without her, and highly encourage anyone thinking about purchasing a puppy to really consider a Morkie.
Yorkie Maltese Mix - Mia
My Yorkie Maltese mix Mia is 10 months old and an absolute doll... She weighs about 8lbs...
All Mia wants is attention...constant attention... she loves to get belly rubs and hates to be brushed :(
She has a wonderful personality and loves spending time with my family's golden retriever... they are best buds.
Yorkie Maltese Mix - Sophia
by Leo
(Brazil)
My Yorkie Maltese mix Sophia was born in NYC June 27th - 1999.
She is in great shape but some cataract has started, she is very jealous and protective, she hates being left alone, great alarm doggie and companion.
My Maltese Yorkie mix does not know she is a dog.
Yorkie Maltese Mix - Nigel
by Andrea
(Virginia Beach)
Nigel is my little Yorkie Maltese mix angel. He is 10 months old and sweet as can be. He is mostly black with a white cross on his chest (he's been blessed by God :oP), and a white patch on his chin.
He loves to play fetch, go for bike rides (where he rides in his handlebar basket), and cuddle up right before bed time. I cannot imagine my life without him.
Yorkie Maltese Mix Charmer - Neko
by Darleen
(Monroe, MI)
My Yorkie Maltese mix is 6 months old with white markings on his chest and paws. I have never had a small dog my other pet is a German Shepherd and I was not sure how I would do with such a small dog.
He has a very sweet personality and is a large dog at heart. He stands up on his back two legs for 22 seconds when he wants a treat. If I act like I am crying he will come up and lick my hand or face and jump in my lap and put his head in my lap.
He he has won the hearts of two of our family friends who are known not be dog lovers. Neko has managed to win them over to the extent that one has volunteered to dog sit and every time she calls the house she wants to know how Neko is doing. He is such a charmer love this dog.

Yorkie Maltese Mix - Skipper
(Wisconsin)
My new warm sweater-I look good in blue!
Our Yorkie Maltese mix Skipper was a surprise gift to us from all of our kids. He is a butterscotch color. And just turned 6 months old. He was born on our wedding anniversary. He loves people! And is very happy to lay on anyone's lap. Skipper loves playing with all of his toys, he has a lot of energy! He loves all the attention he can get. He's got a little howling bark that he does when he is trying to talk to you.
He loves our back yard. And watches the birds in fascination at the bird feeders. And when the squirrels, or the chipmunks show up, he runs and chases them, and barks. Our Yorkie Maltese has a routine when he goes outside to do his business, he first runs around the yard and barks to let all creatures big or small know that this is his yard!!
He is very intelligent, and studies everything. He has been an added joy in our lives. We love our Maltese Yorkie mix very much.
Perfect Yorkie Maltese Mix - Zoe-Redd
Zoe in head bed she refuses to let me throw away.
Zoe is my angel. I got her after my poodle past away and my grief was more than I could handle alone.
She's the daughter of a female Maltese 7lb and a 3lbs Yorkie. Zoe is a good 11lbs, I'm don't know what happened. She's now 18m and a true mamma's girl. She loves getting dressed up everyday in the finest clothing my budget can afford.
She loves walks in an out of her stroller, trips to the mall and the nail shop. She's very social loves playing with her big brother Bushman a 3yr Persian.
The only problem I have with her is she insist on sitting on the sofa when we go over friends homes. As a hybrid she's top of the line. The gentleness of the Maltese and the aggressive nature of the Yorkie. Her coat is beautiful, very thick and naturally shinny. She's perfect. Hypo-allergenic and non shedding.
Our family is growing, Zoe has a new little brother a full breed Maltese named Rasta-Benji with a new sister soon to come a Shi-tzu / Maltese mix to be named by my son.

Yorkie Maltese Mix - Not Just Another BELLA
by Nicole
(Rhode Island)
Bella
Bella is a 2 1/2 year old Yorkie Maltese mix. She tips the scale at 10.5 lbs! She has the sturdy frame of the Maltese and the beautiful thick coat. She has the demanding and protective traits of the Yorkie! She is a true blessing! She loves big dogs as we all know small dog think they are bigger than they are :)
Consistency is key with potty training! It can take alot of work :) She loves to be bathed and blow dried (on low heat of course!) Absolutely adores her small fluffy teddy bear toys! She thinks they are her babies! She is always so excited to greet everyone (well maybe not everyone!) She will let me know if a fly enters the house :)
She enjoys daily walks and wind blowing in her face car rides! She thinks she can chase birds. Overall my Maltese Yorkie is a cuddly, energetic, silly and demanding little girl that I could not live without! I <3 you Bella!
Yorkie Maltese Mix - Kaiden
by Lindsey
(Raleigh NC)
Kaiden age 1 year
Kaiden is a Yorkie Maltese mix born 8/18/08.
Hobbies include... stealing kleenex, paper towels anything paper and hiding them under the bed, chasing the laser pointer, squeaking squeaky toys, and snorting.
He can be a bit picky about his food. He likes peas and carrots in his dry dog food and sometimes the water from draining a can of tuna. He often won't eat it at all unless I add something tasty.
He's just a super cute, smart dog and the best pet I have ever had. I can't wait to get another Yorkie Maltese mix dog to keep him company when he's a little older. =)
Yorkie Maltese Mix - Tico
by Andrea
(Hillside, NJ 07205)

Chief -Yorkie Maltese Mix
by Jen
(Joliet, IL)
My Yorkie Maltese mix Chief puts a huge smile on anyone's face who comes into contact with him. He is almost 2 1/2 years old now and people still think he's only 7 months old!
He is very well behaved and lives up to the Maltese breed by being the best companion a person could ever want! I simply can not explain what a wonderful addition he has been to our family.
He does "his business" outside on walks and if we're not on a walk, he tells me when he needs to go. And, if I'm not available, I actually taught him to go inside a dog litter pan with newspapers in it! He loves the praise he gets when mommy tells him what a good boy he was when he "goes in the box".
He absolutely loves big dogs (I'm talking about 80-100 pound dogs... It's the cutest thing to see him play with a dog this size, he's only a little under 10 pounds.
I would totally recommend this mixed breed to anyone, unless they have small children (it wouldn't be because of the kids getting hurt, it would be because the kids could hurt the dog).
Atari Grace
by Kim
(Las Vegas, NV)
The day I found our little girl....7/1/09
Our little Morkie girl is the Sweetest Monster! One minute she's terrorizing our 2 yr old male Cairn Terrier and the next minute, she turns into my little snuggle bug. Oh, and what a little kisser! We got her @ 6 1/2 months and she turns a year on 1/20/10.
When I read the personality description on this site I was astounded at how dead-on it describes our Maltese Yorkie mix Tari. Being Packer fans, she was named after my favorite player, Atari Bigby. (our Cairn sports the name Brett Favre) She gets along really well with Brett and seems to have settled into being Mommy's Little Girl quite well.
The biggest problem I have with her, well, besides the house training trouble, is that she runs off if she is able to get out the door. She ignores our calls to come back and she's REALLY fast - I swear, I have NEVER seen a faster dog. We are able to have Brett outside without a leash but she cannot be trusted off a leash - for her own good. I hope to find help with this issue on this site. I didn't want even one dog and I love BOTH my babies so, so much. Tari is a fantastic addition to our family!!
Some things we have to work on: house training, jumping on us, nipping at our toes as we are walking through the room, biting at us when she's excited, running away, chewing on everything wood she can find, she thinks EVERYTHING is supposed to be in her mouth, getting our Morkie dog to calm down when she's "on a roll".
Digging Yorkie Mix - Peanut
by Apple
(New York)
I am absolutely in love with my Maltese Yorkie mix dog, Peanut. He's 1.8lbs at 3 months old. He likes to dig into everything, including dirt. He learned how to calm down and sit before I pick him up. Very sweet and loving. He loves to lick my tears away when I'm upset. I'm so lucky to have my little guy. I hate it when I have to leave him.

Protective Morkie - Lucky
by Gracie
(Dickson Tennessee USA )
My Morkie is the most energetic and protective little dog. He is so smart and playful. He defiantly is more Yorkie then Maltese and has a Yorkies personality. This is defiantly my type of dog. He loves to bark at Strangers but people he ain't sure about he lets a deep growl. He warms up to people real quick and has never bitten anyone. Lucky is addicted to stuffed toys and can tear the stuffing out of one less then ten minutes. My Morkie, lucky, is the best dog I have ever had.
